Second Chances

Awkward Car Ride

Hana sat in the backseat of her dad's black  car. Suddenly Hana lunged forward, hitting her forehead on the back of the passenger seat. "Fuc-ku!" Hana exclaims, rubbing her forehead.

"What?!" Robert chuckled.

Hana smirks as she checks her phone, "仕事について冗談? Okay, let's see what improvements they made… okay, we're starting with…" Hana looks up then looks down, "These are bad!" Hana then dials a European phone number, "I got them… and I am not amused… especially, those… they are not funny. Well, I can't read them aloud, right now… You think? Fine, I'll do it… Mom, dad, I have to run a test… cool?"

"Sure." Tina shrugs and so did her husband.

Hana turns her speaker phone on, "Ok Ling, you are in speaker phone and I am in the car with Elphaba and Fiyero… So… whoa! Why is this so awkward?"

Ling sighs, "Just take a deep breath, boss, and recite them…"

Hana inhaled and exhaled, "Okay so when I started HM Tech, I learned that making the work fun for your employees makes working bearable… so I made each and every employee bring joke every month and every Friday I read one, but this month the joke list are well… there not good, so I need second opinion…"

"Alright…" Tina sighs.

"Here goes…" Hana reluctantly read, "Knock knock?"

"Whose there?" Robert asked.

"Interrupting cow…" Hana read.

"Inter—"

"Moo!" Hana sighs. "It's lame…"

"Sort of…" Robert agreed.

Hana unenthusiastically scrolled down, "Yo mama joke, great." Hana cleared her throat, "Yo mama must be hot cause, baby,  you turned out  smoking… Ling, I'd take a wild guess and say that was written by Ren…"

"Nooo…" Ling sarcastically responded, "that boy has a huge crush on Elphaba."

Tina hides her face, Hana noticed this, "Dad, is she laughing?"

Robert glance at his wife, "You bet."

Hana smirks, "Oh you're telling that joke."

Tina stops laughing, "What?!"

"You like the joke," Hana sighs, "yes?"

Tina nodded.

"Great, then you're telling it, I'll record it later on…" Hana nods, opens the door, and walks out.

"Minoru?!" a male voice called out.

Hana turns around wrapping her arms around the young man's neck, "George, oh my God, I haven't seen you in a while."

"We really need to catch up. How long are you here for?"

"Well, it all depends on my mom…"

"So forever?"

"Probably." Hana chuckles.

"If you are staying forever, then meet me at the spot Saturday?"

"Okay," Hana smiles, "see you Saturday…"

"It's a date." George called back.

"It's not a date." Robert came out of the car.

Tina opens the door, "It will never be a date."

George nodded, "Of course, ma'am, not a date. A hang?"

Tina nodded, "Better… we are chaperoning…"

"Oh this is Andre George." Hana introduced, "George, my parents, Robert and Tina Minoru."

George smiles as he shook hands with both Robert and Tina, "Pleasure to meet you, both." He turns to Hana, "And Hana, see you later…"

Hana smiles and waves as George walks away.
