Upgrading Powers

As Hana got Guita in her condo, Guita sat in bed. "Stay?"

Hana looked at her phone, it was almost three am; she should really get home, but leaving a drunk Guita, the civil rights attorney, didn't sound like a good idea.

Hana nods and lays down on the bed beside her friend.

"I remember when we were in Atlas, we went to a college party as 9th graders, I got so drunk. Your mom had to let me stay in the mansion so that I wouldn't get in trouble with my lola... I am grateful to your family." Guita slurred, "I am so sorry, Mrs. Minoru... I can't go with you to the Wilders."

Hana propped up on her elbows, "What?!"

Guita was already fast asleep.

Hana scowled and quickly got out of the condo, driving home, she realized that everyone was still there except George. Probably gone home. She thought, as Hana slammed the door open, to find the adults drinking coffee all were now sober.

Robert turns to see his older daughter, "Hey, you okay?"

"No," Hana shook her head, "level with me..."

"Okay?" Robert sighs.

"Did you or did you not try to sacrifice Guita?" Hana asked with anger growing. When Robert didn't respond, Hana cried, "Don't even try lying..."

"I had no choice!" Tina yelled, "It was either you or her..."

"'No choice'? 'No choice'," Hana repeated, "she was 16 the same age I was don't tell me you had no choice cause you always do..." Hana turns around and starts walking away.

Nico ran after her sister, "Where are you going?"

"Home!" Hana growls.

Nico ran to block the door, "You are home..."

"No, I'm not..." Hana sighs glaring at her sister, "nine years, Nico. This hasn't been my home since I was 17."

"You don't mean that..." Nico looks at her sister.

"I do." Hana pushed her sister aside and opened the door.

"Stay!" Nico yelled using the staff.

Hana's feet was stuck to where she stood, "Very funny, Nico. Now, let me go."

Nico shook her head, "Not if you're gonna leave."

Hana sighs and flicks her finger, "Enough of this," flames came out of her fingertips, "let me go or I'll burn this house down."

"You wouldn't..." Nico challenged.

Hana tilted her head and sneared, "Watch me." She sets her eyes on the picture on the table and it started to burst into flames.

"Extinguish!" Nico yelled.

Hana throws the frame at Nico, who lost focus on the spell and Hana broke free. Hana then leaves slamming the door so loud it woke Molly who was sleeping in Dale's arms.

"Wha- what happened?!" Molly asked.

Alex shook his head, "Japanese Princess left..."

Molly looked shocked, "Hana will come back, right?"

Nico bent down to pick up the picture, it was a family portrait, it had a burnt hole on all their faces. "I have never seen her this upset... since- since- well, since that day. Ow!" Nico dropped the frame, "What the heck?!"

Alex kneels to touch the frame but it was scorching, "Okay..." he chuckles, "that burns."

"Well," Chase shrugs, "Hana is hot..."

"Chase." Victor warned.

"I just meant her power's hot..." Chase explained, "but yeah, I'll shut up, now."

"We have to find her..." Tina on the verge of tears.

Robert held Tina in his arms, "We will..."

Nico runs outside with the staff, "Track!" Nothing happened. "Track!" Nico tried again, nothing, and again, "Track!" Nico was now crying.

"Her powers are stopping yours..." an elderly woman showed up out of the shadows.

"おばあさん?!" Nico called out shocked. "Where is she?"

Akari smiles softly at her granddaughter, "She doesn't want to be found..."

"But mom-" Nico tried to reason.

"What about Tina?" Akari asked, "Don't tell me she's worried..."

"I am." Tina walks towards her daughter.

"Ah daughter!" Akari calls.

"Don't call me that." Tina sneered, "Where is my daughter?! Where is Hana?!"

"She doesn't want to be found." Akari repeated, "After what you did, I'd be surprised if she'd ever comeback..."

"You don't know Hana!" Nico screams, "She might curse your name, in 15 different languages- give or take a few, but she believes in family!"

"Daughter," Akari turns to her daughter, "you know how this plays out. Your daughter will end up just like you, trap in a marriage with a husband who cheated on you with two different women... The difference is that unlike you your daughter isn't pregnant."

"What?!" Nico shocked, "What is she talking about mom?"

Tina's eyes grew wide, "You swore you'd never bring that up!" Tina immediately pulled her daughter with her towards the gate. "Wizey lock the gate!"

"Like that would stop me, Tina!" Akari appeared behind her daughter. "I'm dead."

Tina looks at Akari, "Why are you here?!"

"Hana summoned me..." Akari explains.

"Why would Hana summon you?" Nico wondered.
