Second Chances

Remember

Robert came home to find Tina, Nico, Molly, and Alex sitting on the living room floor surrounded by books, papers, and files laid carelessly beside them. Robert walks over, "What's this?"

Tina without looking up, "We're looking for ways to prolong your life..."

"I get that but why are they here?" Robert eyeing Molly and Alex.

"Mr. Minoru," Alex stood up, "you are currently down two daughters- three pairs of hands... cause let's face it, Hana has four arms. So, you get the next best things, Molly and I."

Robert nodded, "Okay. Everyone eat yet?" No one answered making Robert chuckle as he holds out his hand to his wife, "Thought so... let's go I bought burgers." Tina looks at Robert, "Come on, Mrs. Minoru, I know your hungry."

Tina chuckles, puts her hand on her husband's, and gets up. "I'm worried..." she admits, as they sat around the dining table. "What if we don't find a way? Giving my father the book could spell disaster but if we don't your dead..."

"Listen Tina," Robert sat across from Tina, "I want you to promise that if it comes down to it, you will not give the book to Merlyn."

Tina was astonished by his request. "Till death do us part..." she whispers.

Robert sighs, "Not even death can part us."

Molly cleared her throat, "Sorry, Hana and Amy are wizchatting."

Robert nodded and walked behind his wife towards the living room. Tina sat next to Nico, who had the laptop in front of her. Nico chuckled, "Hana, are you wearing pink?"

Hana rolled her eyes, as Guita was heard in the background, "She's wearing a 1950s designed pink dress with 1950s low heels."

Hana sighs, "Keep your eyes on the road, Minoli."

"Where are you?" Nico asked her oldest sister.

Hana held the phone with both hands, "Just a little detour..."

"Seriously?!" Nico demanded, "We have a crisis here and you went sightseeing!"

"Amy?" Tina saw the look in her middle daughter's face, "What happened?"

Amy leans against the wall, "I tried but according to Strange this is a family thing and Kamar-Taj does not get involve in this sorta things."

Molly's eyes widens, "I got an idea..."

"What?" Tina looked at the girl.

"That is if Hana got the book..." Molly looks at the screen. Hana nods. Molly looks at Hana, "Come to the hostel quick, I'm not too keen in discussing this through wizcall." Alex looks at Molly confused; Molly smiled, "You're not the only one who can come up with a plan..."

As everyone arrived at the hostel, Molly ran to the dining area and tore the board down replacing it with a new one. Hana laid the book on the table, as they all sat around it.

"We all remember when Hana would make us a copy of our textbooks to help us understand it better... We could replicate the book's cover and give that hollow book to Merlyn..."

"One problem," Gert raised her hand, "there is no way we could ever play the all-powerful Merlyn..."

"We can't but she can..." Amy gestures to Hana.

"Still doesn't solve the whole end of the world thing." Hana looks up, "Only Merlyn can read that book..."

"Not true," Nico shook her head, "we can... you, Amy, and I."

"Yeah," Hana rolled her eyes, "bits and pieces... not a whole spell..."

"So we make it up as we go..." Nico smirks.

"It has to be in Latin," Hana shook her head, "and none of you can speak in Latin..."

"But you can..." Karolina looks up, "can't you?"

Hana nods, "Yes, but I'm doing the drop off..."

"No, you're not." Tina shook her head, "I'll do it." Hana, Amy, and Nico all stood up, Tina looks up at her daughters, "Merlyn's my father; I should be the one to confront him, not you..."

"You sure?" Hana looks worriedly at her mother.

"No," Tina admits, "but I have to."

"Well, you need an outfit change..." Hana sighs. Guita smiled, "And lucky for you; Guita?"

Guita tosses the bag of clothes to Hana, "Here."

Hana hands the bag to her mother, "Here. Go change."

Tina comes out of the room:

Nico looks at Tina, "Whoa! This is trippy..."

"Tell me about it..." Amy looks at her younger sister. "Can we do something about her height?"

Tina frowns.

Hana gives her mother a red ribbon, "Tie this around your right wrist. Unfortunately, Amy it's 40 years late for that..."

Tina ties the ribbon on her wrist. Hana grabs her mother's shoulders, "Oh crap..." Hana realizes, "her eyes... I got everything from mom but her eyes and height..."

Stacey walks up to Hana, "I got just the thing..."

Tina puts it on, "Whoa!"

"Nice," Hana nods, "this will work..."

Tina looks at Hana, who was eating. "Will you stop eating?!" Tina scolds.

Hana swallowed, "I'm sorry, I'm stress. I stress eat."

Guita sighs, "Yup, Lola Sita gave us 60 lumpia to share with others and she ate 59 already..."
