Trust Fund

Nik's P.O.V.-

I wake up and it's two o'clock in the afternoon. Jamie is still curled up asleep in bed. I try to get out of bed but Jamie's arms wrap around my waist and he snuggles into me. "I give up. *sigh* Be glad your adorable" I whisper to the air. I kiss his forehead and wrap my arms around him and bring the blanket back up over us in case mom wakes up and comes in here.

I just hold him in my arms. He's been so stressed about everything. Not so much since we took a extra time off to just be together before it really gets crazy. *knock knock* "come in" I say "Oh, um. I hope I'm not interrupting anything. I made lunch if you want some" Mom says "okay, thank you. I'll wake him up." I said and she shuts the door.

"Babe, get up. Mom made lunch" I said but he didn't move. I kiss him and he kissed me back. When I pulled back he opened his eyes. "Have a good nap Babe?" I ask "I did indeed Baby" he said and got up and put on a pair of sweatpants and so did I. We went down the stairs together. "Ooh, I made both you boys a plate already" Mom says "You really didn't have to" Jamie says "Oh, Nonsense! That's what mothers do. I will never get tired of doing it. Even when y'all have kids I'll be lonely so I'll probably do it there" Mom says and I blush a bright red. "Moooom" I say "What?" She asks "please stop" I say

"What? I know you both want kids, and you are getting married in a few months so.. I'm just saying" she says "Baby it's okay. I mean there is only two ways for us to do that" he says "and they both happen to be very expensive so that's why we were both getting jobs before we graduated college. To save money to be able to do either of those options. Adoption is only $5,000 to $40,000 and surrogacy is anywhere from $90,000 to $130,000." He says

"I wish it wasn't so much" Mom says "I've got like $12,000 or so in the bank." He says "I've got about $15,000." I say "Where on earth are yall getting so much money?" Mom asks "well, I got a scholarship so I'm not paying for school. We don't pay bills because we live here. We aren't having anything extravagant for the wedding so. I only pay for insurance and gas and taxes." I say "We've been saving everything since we got jobs because we knew that it would be a lot of money any way we tried to have a kid at the very least" He said "But we have to save up for a house or apartment or something before we even try adopting. It's part of the requirements." I said

"You could use the money from your trust fund for whichever a house or kids. You know that money was for your college but when you told us that you were gay we did put a little more in when we could. At first it was just a fallback for college but you are an amazingly smart kid and got a scholarship. You can use it to pay for a house or use it to help with kids or paying for a kids college in the future maybe. Your father and I just wanted the money to be used for a good cause like starting a family  Buying a house, Furthering your education, and other Things like that" Mom said as she sadly smiled at me and Jamie.

I looked down at my food. "I'm sorry." I said "Huh?" Mom asks "Sometimes I don't know what to feel about all this. You had to lose the love of your life for me to find mine. Which kinda sucks that they couldn't have met." I said "Honey, all your father and I ever wanted was for you to be happy. We knew how unhappy you were and tried everything to help but sometimes sacrifice have to be made... and I'm glad that you got Jamie out of it. Plus, you got Luke and Jenny as friends, and Rosalee is an adorable little thing" Mom says

"I know but I just wish Dad would have met you Babe." I said looking at Jamie who had been quietly eating his lunch. "I know Baby" Jamie says and kisses my cheek. "See. You two are just too adorable together. You shouldn't stress so much. You've been through a lot together even in the short amount of time together." Mom says "Mom" I say blushing "You wanna make it up to me. Take the money your father and I saved for you and get me some granbabies" Mom says and winks.
