Christmas Suprise

Nik's P.O.V.-

Christmas Eve
12:00 p.m.

"BABE! Hurry up. We're going to be late!" I yell in the front door. "Sorry, I just had to wrap the last present real quick." He says rushing almost forgetting his coat. I grab his coat off the rack and stop him before he could freeze. "Babe. Jacket" I say handing it to him. "Trade" he says handing me the presents while he puts his coat on. "Thanks baby" he says taking the presents and putting them in the back.

We both jump in the car and head to his dad's house. He puts his hand in mine. "Mom said she'll be over later tonight when she gets off work." I said "Okay" he says and pulls out his phone. "I'm gonna text dad and tell him we're on our way." He says and types away. "Nobody else is there yet so we're good." He says after a few minutes.

"I hope they like what I got them." He says "I'm sure they will." I say giving his hand a light squeeze. We just sit in a comfortable silence till we pull up in the driveway. "I texted dad that we were here" he says putting his phone in his back pocket getting out and grabbing some bags/boxes from the back. We walked up just as the door opened and Jack took what was in my hands while I went back out.

Finally when we brought everything in and we all exchanged greetings. After a minute Dan walked out with Elizabeth in his arms. She looks like she just got up from a nap. Her small arm was wrapped around his neck and the other holding a bear. When Dan sees us he smiles. "Do you wanna see who's here?" Dan asks Elizabeth and she turns her head to look at us and she nods her head. When we first met Elizabeth she immediately took a liking to us, well Jamie mostly.

"Lunch is almost done." Jack says from the kitchen. "I'll help set the table" I say as Jamie is now cooing over Elizabeth in his arms and she is giggling her head off. Dan went to open the door because there was a knock. I set the table and helped put food on all of the plates. "You have your whole lives ahead of you, but if you don't mind me asking. Do you think you two will want kids? He seems really good with them." Jack says handing me a plate to put on the table.

"I think we will. We'll probably wait till we both get steady jobs and a good income and a house of our own first. Probably wait till we're both out of college too. But I know he wants them and so do I." I say "I get it. I wanted kids but I never found anyone who did then I got Elizabeth and then I met Dan and..." he says leaning against the counter. "You know its gonna be a few years before we get everything done. Your not to old to adopt. I think they stop that at like 50." I say getting the hint he wanted more kids.

"I don't know. I don't know if Dan would want more kids. I mean I do love him and he's so good and sweet with Elizabeth but I don't know. I felt like it would work in the past but it didn't so I don't know" He says and sighs. "I get it. I really do. When you think that your with someone and that you may end up with them for a while then your not. It sucks" I say "You sound like you speak from experience" he says

"Yea, that's one of the reasons why my mom and I moved here. We were together a year and a half. He cheated on me for 6 months. It really sucked. I got depressed and developed some bad issues. My dad died trying to cheer me up. It was so much at once and we needed a new start. It was hard to open up at first and trust anyone. But with Jamie he just I don't know felt safe. He broke all my walls down" I said.

"And your only 18?" He says and I nod. "Dang kid. I'm sorry." He says "I can't complain. It brought me to Jamie. I love him more than he'll ever know. I'm so grateful for him and everyone here." I said "Yeah.. hmm. Um we should go tell everyone that lunch is ready" Jack says and we walk into the living room where Jenny, Luke, Rosalee, Dan, Jamie, and Elizabeth are. Jamie is now holding Rosalee while Dan is holding Elizabeth again. More presents are under the tree.
