September 10th, Miyuki decided to take Shinjiro out to Wakatsu which was a restaurant located in the Iwatodai strip mall.
"You eat here often?" Shinjiro asked. "Not really, sometimes Rio takes me here."
"Rio?" Shinjiro asked. "She's one of my teammates, remember?" Miyuki responded.
"I sometimes forget how active you can be." Shinjiro replied. "Anyway it'd be better if Aki ate here more often, guy doesn't get a balanced amount of nutrients." he added.
"Since when did you become a health nut?" Miyuki asking playfully.
"I'm not, I just know he drinks more of those protein shakes than he should." Shinji replied with a light chuckle. "You think he's fighting well?" he asked.
"Akihiko-kun is a strong fighter, I can't deny that." Miyuki answered "His form is good and he keeps himself in good condition." Shinjiro chuckled at her response. "You say that like you know a lot about fighting." he replied.
"I wouldn't say I know a lot about fighting but it's always interested me, the multiple styles of fighting that have been developed over the years is so cool to me." Miyuki responded excitedly. "With that kind of dedication to fighting, makes me wonder why your brother's the leader." Shinjiro responded.
"Oh, that's easy." Miyuki answered "Because Takuya isn't fighting for himself."
"Huh?" Shinjiro said in response.
"Remember when you asked me what I'm fighting for? My answer was that I'm fighting for myself, Takuya fights to protect those he cares about." Miyuki answered as she took a sip of her tea. "A leader who only fights for herself isn't a very good leader...at least I don't think so." she added, this response made Shinjiro smile.
"You're something else...." Shinjiro responded. "When this group started, Mitsuru and Aki were nowhere near as confident or calm in combat as they are now..." he began remenessing about the past "It was just a bunch of kids fumbling through, but now it seems to actually be something."
"You talk about Akihiko a lot." Miyuki noted out loud. "I think it's sweet."
"It is what it is." Shinjiro said with a sigh. "When you say your brother fights to protect the people he cares about...who is that?" he asked, Miyuki tilted her head in response.
"Well at the start it was just me if I'm being honest..." Miyuki explained "...Takuya's always been protective of me, especially after...it happened...but something's different as of late." Shinji was listening intently as she spoke "...I think he's finally starting to care about other people again, it makes me happy." after she finished explaining, the waiter came by and gave both of them their orders. "We should eat while it's still hot." Miyuki said which pulled Shinjiro out of his thoughts. "Right." he said.
"You know Shinji, you're a very kind hearted person." Miyuki said as she ate "Always so concerned about others." he blushed in response. "D-Don't be stupid." he said which made the girl sitting in front of him laugh.
September 11th, Miyuki was hanging out with Yukari in Paulownia Mall that evening.
"Y'know..." Yukari began to say as the two girls sat by the fountain "We're getting closer and closer to finishing all this...." Miyuki turned to look at her friend. "You mean the Dark Hour?" she asked Yukari who let out a sigh. "Yeah." her friend said.
"What about it, Yuka-chan?" Miyuki asked.
"It's just....weird, I guess." Yukari said "I guess I've just become used to it being routine, the thought of not having to do it again is....weird." she admitted, Miyuki responded by placing her hand on the girl's shoulder. "I get that." Miyuki replied "I haven't really given much thought to what I'll do after this is all over...."
