Miyuki found herself standing in a room, surrounded by shades of blue, in front of her was a disturbing-looking old man with a long nose and a wicked grin.
The man sat behind a table, his elbows resting on it's surface as his hands were clasped in front of his face. There was another chair on the opposite side of the table, he beckoned for Miyuki to sit in front of him.
"Who are you?" Miyuki asked.
"I am Igor..." The man began "And this, my dear lady, is the velvet room..."
"H-How did I get here?" She asked with a concerned stutter.
"You passed out after awakening your power in your world, but do not be alarmed, you will awaken when this conversation is done." Igor continued to explain.
"Okay....I guess that makes sense." Miyuki spoke as she slowly walked to the chair, finally taking a seat in front of Igor. "But, where is this place?" She asked as she situated herself in the chair.
"A place between dreams and reality..." Igor answered, he pulled a card from inside his sleeve and tossed it to Miyuki who caught it on instinct.
"I see it was Valkyrie who came to you..." Igor said as Miyuki turned the card over to see an image of that very same Valkyrie on the front "...That power is called a Persona, a manifestation of your psyche, a being that comes from within your mind and soul."
"Persona..." Miyuki said to herself in thought.
"It's a part of yourself that comes out in response to external forces, during the Midnight Hour, it comes out in a much different way than normal." Igor explained.
"This thing's always been inside me?" Miyuki asked now even more confused.
"In a sense, yes." Igor answered "Think of it like a mask, one that you can wear to brave many great hardships."
Miyuki looked away from Igor to once again look at the cord, this was a lot to take in, a lot to think about.
"Keep one thing in mind, Miss Miyuki..." Igor said to catch Miyuki's attention "Your bonds with the people around you will give this power more strength."
"...My bonds?" Miyuki asked in an almost dazed tone.
"Your connections with those around you..." Igor explained "Make sure you use your time wisely."
With those words, Miyuki started to feel sleepy.
"My...it seems we've run out of time." Igor spoke up "Next time we meet, you'll come to me." He added before tossing her a strange looking key.
"Until we meet again, madam." And with Igor's parting words spoken, Miyuki blacked out.
When Miyuki awoke, she was in a hospital bed, sitting up she noticed both Yukari and her brother were standing at her bedside.
"You're awake!" Yukari shouted as she leapt from her chair "How much sleep do you need?!" She added, this made Takuya smirk.
"Brother....you're already awake?" Miyuki asked, they passed out at roughly the same time so she assumed he'd still be asleep.
"Yeah....woke up a day ago, found this one sitting her in your room." Takuya explained.
Yukari looked at Takuya before sighing.
"Now that you're both awake...I should probably explain a bit." Yukari spoke up.
"Yeah, that'd be nice." Takuya chimed in rudely.
"Those things that attacked us last week....those things are called shadows, it's what we fight against." Yukari explained.
"We?" Takuya asked.
