Night at the Museum

"Wait a minute!", Natasha interrupted. "F.R.I.D.A.Y, isolate this room from the rest of the building. Turn off the CCTV, stop the audio recorder and make sure nobody disturbs us until allowed otherwise", she ordered. The blinds drew, blocking the sun rays, lights switched on automatically, all the doors locked and the red light which once blinked every second from the cameras turned off.

She then gestured Annabeth to begin.

Annabeth obliged and started, "okay. So Gamora is still with them, so our first action should be to free her." Bruce interjected her, "shouldn't we send a group to rescue her first? They won't have anything to blackmail us with then. Also, Gamora can tell us more about the army we're about to face." Bruce made sense but that would not help in their case.

Annabeth took a deep breath and explained, "I agree, we need to free Gamora but now is not the best time. They are expecting us to go to her rescue, they will ambush us if we go, they know Percy's fatal flaw will make him go to liberate her come what may. Therefore, we need to stay here and not walk into a trap." The demigods understood what Annabeth meant but by the looks of it the avengers were puzzled.

"What is a fatal flaw?" Natasha questioned. For the first time she realized how little she knew about the Greek world. A world she was now a part of. If this fatal flaw is a part of demigod's life, then she needed to know.

"We told you that demigods don't live long. This is because most of the times when we are in a life-death situation, it is because one of our emotions lead us to do that. That is called fatal flaw. Annabeth mentioned Percy's because his fatal flaw is personal loyalty. He would destroy the world to save his loved ones. That's why they are expecting him to come." Thalia elaborated. Avengers were shocked to say the least. If an emotion can lead to their deaths then they did not know what was more deadly, guns and swords or a fully planned manipulation of emotions.

If every demigod has a fatal flaw then I must have one too, Natasha thought. Annabeth continued by saying her's was pride. Pride to make buildings last forever, pride to be best. Thalia's was power and Leo's was sense of inferiority. Upon questioning Natasha got to know that most of the children of Ares have pride as their fatal flaw.

"Okay we're going off topic" Leo butted in, "Annabeth? Plan?"

"Oh yeah. Plan. So we shouldn't walk into an ambush. If we don't go then certainly they'll bring Gamora along them when they attack to keep an eye on her." She paused to lean drink some water. "Bruce you said that her teammates were coming?"

"Yes, the guardians. They'll be here as fast as they can." He informed at which Annabeth nodded her head. " I say that we fight the army head-on. The monsters will be distracted so the guardians can sneak in and find Gamora while we're in battle." Nobody objected which Annabeth took as a sign of agreement.

"So, Tony, I need you to bring temporary pools near the battlefield. Get inflatable pools for all I care but get it and get many. We'll have an upper hand if we have water and water controlling Percy with us." She instructed pointing towards Tony.

"Am I just going to control water wise girl?" Percy pouted. Everyone chuckled. They understood he was trying to lighten the mood. Annabeth kissed his cheek and said, "no seaweed brain. You'll be my partner in combat." At this Percy gave a toothy grin. The avengers couldn't help but noticed the difference in Percy after Annabeth became concious.

"Okay, but seriously we can't fight hundreds of monsters. No matter how skilled we are." Steve pointed out.

"No we can't." Annabeth agreed and smiled, "but metal statues can." Percy jumped a little, "you mean the ones with Daedalus' command?" He asked, astonished.

"Yup" she replied, then saw the bewildered looks on the avengers and Leo and explained. "Daedalus had a programme with which one can activate statues and give them commands. In the battle of Manhatten I commanded them to defend the city."

Tony was so shaken that he didn't even realise that he fell over from the chair. "I know that Greek world has secrets but this is on another level." Tony marvelled from where he fell from the chair.

"For that we need to bring those statues here" Clint interjected, trying to save Tony from further humiliation. "Yes, I should go to the city with a few trucks to load the statues. I'll make sure to put a veil of mist there so that it looks that the statues never went anywhere." Thalia stated. It was logical. Thalia knew how to manipulate mist from when Chiron the centaur taught her. Annabeth nodded but before she could say in affirmation Peter spoke, "woah, this sounds like the whole Night at the Museum story. You know, the one where the wax statues in the museum come to life at night. That was amazing movie."

Everyone was weirded out by Peter's sudden outburst. Everyone except Annabeth. She had the thinking face on like Percy described it to be.

"You are a genius Peter!" She exclaimed all of a sudden. This time everyone was weirded out by her but she didn't notice.

"I am?" Peter asked. It looked like Peter was asking himself if he was a boy by the look of his face.

"Yes you are. Incredible idea. I'll explain you all later. For now, Tony can you order wax. I need a lot of it. Leo come we need to discuss something." She practically ran to the other side of the table and dragged him with her. Halfway to the door she called out. "There's more to the plan but this is important. I'll tell you more about it later." With that she dragged Leo out of the room to who knows where.

The others had their jaw hanging. Peter felt the need to break the silence. So he said, "do you think she's going to re-enact the movie as a distraction to the monsters?"

For those who haven't seen any of the movie from the 'Night at the Museum' trilogy. There is a trailer of the first one in the media box. It kind of connects to what happens later in the story.
