“And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven” Luke 1:76-78

"You two know each other?" Laura asked, getting excited at the probability.
"Oh yes we do. We're very close." Matt said, faking enthusiasm. But Laura obviously didn't noticed the sarcasm in his voice when he spoke to me.
One question. Why? Why me? Why all of this? Can't I have one nice time with my only friend and his parents? Can I have that? I guess not all because of Matt.
Why is God letting this happen to me?

"It's so amazing both of you already know each other!" Laura said happily.
"Yeah Yeah Yeah, now can we eat?" Danny whined.
We all laughed at him but he didn't laugh with us.
"I was serious." He mumbled.
"Alright let's say a prayer before we eat." Aaron interrupted and bowed his head.
Matt smirked and walked over to stand beside me. Because of my broken wrist, Adam just put his hand on my shoulder, but to my misfortune, Matt got the good hand. My palms became sweaty and I had the urge to wipe my musty hand on him.
As Aaron started praying, I didn't really pay attention. Instead, I opened my previously closed eyes to see what Matt was doing. As my eyes landed my eyes on him, his eyes were already meeting mine. Why is he staring? A familiar sickness grew inside of me. Bile threatened to shoot up my throat. Oh God please don't let me throw up. I swallowed the nausea back down and realized I was still looking at Matt.
He just smiled and did a silent laugh then closed his eyes. I closed mine as well, starting to get even more intimidated every second I looked at him.
"And lord, selfishly, we ask for you to bless our food. In your name we pray, Amen." Aaron finished and we all lifted our heads as we released our grips on each other's hands.
We all headed outside where we saw three plastic folding tables. One for food, one for drinks, and another larger one for eating.
"Dive into the buffet ladies and gentlemen!" Aaron said cheerfully. If only he knew that this night would probably turn into hell for me and Adam.
Who knows what Matt might mention? What if he mentions us ever dating, or losing my virginity to him, or me vandalizing his truck, SOMETHING? ANYTHING? While I looked calm on the outside, my body was set into panic mode on the inside.
With the help of Adam, I picked out the food I wanted and he put it on my plate for me. As we went down the array of food, my appetite diminished. I really didn't feel like eating. That's sweet of him. Even though I picked out very little, I knew I wouldn't be able to eat all of it without hurling at least once.
"Aren't you going to get more?" Adam asked a little quietly.
"Nah, I'm fine."
He gave me a sympathetic look for a moment before setting his plate down at our seats. He glanced around the backyard and I followed his gaze. He looked away when his eyes met Matt's from across the table but I still glared. Matt chomped on some chips as he stared at us with an amused smile on his face. He loved torturing us, didn't he?
