"Bye guys. I love you." I said as I wrapped my arms around my mother's waist.

"Adam can come over but no other boys." She instructed in my ear as she stroked my back.

"What about Danny?" I whispered back.

"Danny... Is... Yeah he can come over too." She said and I laughed.

My mother had an unfortunate way of meeting Danny. Danny... Kind of... Maybe accidentally walked in on my Mom taking a shower. He was so embarrassed that he wanted to die. Poor kid couldn't wipe the red off his cheeks.

I stole a hug from my Dad before they headed out the door with their suitcases in their hands. They would only be gone a week and a half this time but I would still miss them. Every year on January 5th they have to go to New York for some huge annual meeting that's supposed to be very important. My parents work for a Resort/Time Share place that has resorts all over the country, so they travel a lot. It wasn't so bad considering I get to come with them sometimes and have everything paid for me. And now, when school is in and I have to stay home, At least Adam can come over and we can chill and whatever.

With the house going back to feeling empty and lonely, I plopped myself down on the couch. I pulled my phone from my pocket and texted Adam.

'Where are you?' I asked him. I wanted to make sure he wasn't doing anything before I asked him to come over.

'On my way :D' he replied. I guess he knew what I was going to ask.

He knows me too well. I shook my head and smiled. Almost every day this week, we've been together. I couldn't wait to hang out. Maybe my husband will come over too?

A few minutes later, my door swung open and Adam rushed inside.

"It's freezing outside!"

"That's funny. Yesterday it was 70 degrees." I said as I stretched myself.

"Well it is Texas." He reasoned as he took off his hoodie and laid it across the back of my couch. He plopped down next to me and kicked his feet up on the coffee table.

I shrugged. "True. Anyways, Where's my husband?" I asked.

"He's at my house with Todd and my Dad. He said he'd be over in like an hour."

I nodded in response and sunk myself into my couch as I swung my legs onto his lap. The room fell silent except for the sound of the clicks as he was texting on his phone.

"Ooo are you texting your little crush?" I said in a falsetto tone.

"No, I'm not actually." He said, his eyes glued to the phone screen.

I bit my lip in curiosity and raised my eyebrows at him. He locked his phone after his text was sent and looked at me. I still stared and he gave me a confused look.

"What?" He asked.

"Who were you texting?"

"No one!" He defended.

"Uh huh...." I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes.

"Ann, I'm serious." He warned.

"I have to approve of her before you date her!" I added.

"I think you'll like her. She's nice and pretty and just amazing."

"Now I know for sure it's not me." I joked and laughed.

"What do you mean?" He asked seriously.

"I'm pretty much the opposite of everything you just said." I said flatly, an unamused expression on my face.
