It was Halloween night and I was not in the mood to dress up. I didn't feel like going anywhere or doing anything. I just wanted to stay home and watch Halloweentown or Monster House or something. No way did I feel like dressing in a tiny, slutty outfit that said "Hey you! You with the Jack Daniels! Yeah, come screw me over!" or maybe " Hey you with the red solo cup! I know you're going to cheat on me, but let's date anyway!". I huffed in frustration. I was getting furious with my own thoughts. I was still bored though... Maybe Ashley was in the same boat as me and wanted to hang out? I sighed and picked up my iPhone. Here goes nothing.
"Hello?" She asked, and obviously had something in her mouth, trying to swallow quickly so she could talk.
"Hey it's Ann." I said and she exclaimed in recognition.
"Hey! What are you doing tonight?" She asked.
"Sitting home. Watching Monster House. Are you free?" I said, trying not to sound too desperate.
"Yeah! In fact, I'm watching that right now too. Wanna hang out?"
"Yeah that's what I was going to ask. Plus I just need someone who understands right now." I said thankfully.
"So my place or yours?"
"Um mine? Maybe you want to spend the night?" I suggested.
"Yeah! That'd be great. What's your address?"
"Umm you live in Oak Hollow right?" I asked, referring to our subdivision.
"Yeah."
"Okay 189 Livingston Street."
"Alright. Be there around nine?"
"Yeah that's perfect."
"Okay. See ya then. Bye." She said and hung up.
Yay! Now I have plans and I didn't have to go anywhere or dress up or anything. And plus, NO GUYS! It's girls night!

"You have not!" I exclaimed and took a bite of ice cream.
"Yup! Twice!" Ashley said as she nodded and scarfed down a handful of popcorn.
"Wow I never thought Nelson would ever kiss a girl. Or let alone have the guts to."
"I know! He nearly passed out!"
I couldn't stop my fit of laughter at the thought of skinny, scrawny Nelson Greenburg would ever think of kissing a girl.
We became silent for a moment until she said,
"So I'm assuming the reason you aren't out tonight is the same reason as mine." She said and swirled her spoon around in her icecream carton.
I didn't look at her. She was right. But she was he only one who understood me right now.
"I guess I should've known," I began and she gave me a confused look. Then I continued, "I mean, he didn't have protection one night and I refused to do anything and then the next day Carlos tells me he had sex with you. I guess he was desperate enough to cheat on me." I said, getting quieter with each word.
Ashley didn't speak so I continued to fill the awkward silence, "I just can't believe," I paused for a moment to throw my head back to keep tears from spilling, but they just spilled out of the corners of my eyes. "I can't believe I trusted him with the one thing that made me valuable. I gave him my virginity."
"Me too..." She said but then looked like she regretted it.
"You mean you've never... before?"
