Jade's POV:

I walked around the house like crazy trying to fight this craving for blood that I had in me, I walked to the mini bar that we had and poured myself a drink since that did help a little bit.

Josie's POV:

I wanted to ask dad how he is involved with the council but I couldn't, he would ask questions which I can't answer, I wish I could tell him everything and talk to him like I used to.

"Hey, you girl's ready?" He asked

"Yeah, just finishing my hair." Lizzie said while she was doing her hair.

"Why do we have to attend this party dad?" I asked

"I have some work to do there and I don't want you girls to be alone here, so why wouldn't we?"

I smiled at him as I stood up from the bed and headed downstairs with him.

"Are you okay dad? You look frustrated."

"I'm fine Josie, it's just all this work that I have to do" he smiled.

"You should take a break"

He was definitely referring to the council, there's no way the principle would had some work to do at the founding families party.

"I'm ready!" Lizzie yelled as she came downstairs and we headed out.

Jade's POV:

"Oh, god. I shouldn't be here." I sighed as we stood outside the founding party.

"Come on. Don't be a downer. It's a party for the founding families. That would be you. It would be rude to skip it." Penelope said as she walked inside.

I followed her "you know, I-I really liked you a whole lot better when you hated everybody."

"Oh, I still do. I just love that they love me." She chuckled as she looked at me.

"How you feeling?" She asked.

"I'm good. I'm fine."

"No cravings? No urges?" Has that whiskey you been drinking all day doing it's job?" She smirked

I looked at her and let out a laugh.

"We are who we are, Jade. Pretending does not change that."

"Ah, nothing would make you happier than to just see me give in, huh, Penelope?"

"Whatever. It's inevitable." She said looked around.

"Hm. I'm going to find Josie." I said as walked away.

"Don't embarrass me," she smirked.

I ignored her and just kept walking, I saw a bar so I grabbed a drink and went to look for Josie.

Josie's POV:

We walked in with Lizzie and dad, some jazz music was playing.

"Okay girls, I'm going to find the mayor" dad said as he left us.

"He always does that" Lizzie complained.

"Did you know that he was involved with the council?" I whispered.

"What?! No! How do you know that?"

"Well, uh, Penelope told me." I shrugged.

Lizzie looked at me suspicious "since when is Penelope nice to you? Last time I checked we were suppose to avoid her at any cost"

She wasn't wrong I did say that but Jade wasn't ok and the only person that could help would be Penelope.

"I know, but it's more complicated"
