Chapter 29: Is that your choice then? To die instead?

Jade's POV:

I woke up finding myself to weak to even move from the floor, I looked around me to realise where I was. When suddenly I saw a bright light out of nowhere.

*Flashback*

"She's one of them!" A man yelled

"Burn her with the others!" The other man said as he put some kind of mask on my face. And threw me at the back of a carriage.

All I could hear was the men talk and their footsteps until I suddenly couldn't hear them anymore, is this it? Did they put a stake through my heart already?

I heard someone trying to open the locked door on the carriage. I opened my eyes to find Penelope there.

"Hey, don't worry I'll get you out of here" she said as she pulled me out of the carriage.

She took that thing of my face and carried me away from there.

"No, Penelope. There gonna kill you for this" I said trying to catch my breathe.

"There's no way I'm leaving you to get killed."

We had to stop behind a tree when we saw all the people from the town holding torches.

"There must be a way around" she said looking around.

"It's okay. Penelope, they're here for us not for you."

"No, Jade. I'm not letting them take you away!" She said as picked me up and carried me.

"Cmon, we're nearly there" she said

I looked around us and we were still in the forest, I had no idea where she was taking me.

"Penelope!" I heard a familiar voice.

She turned around to see her mother running to her, "Mother? What are you-"

"Penelope! Thank god you're okay. I was so worried."

"Worried?"

"Of course"

Penelope looked around her to see if she didn't bring someone with her.

"Don't worry it's only me." Her mother said.

"I don't believe you!"

"You have to let her go! She's one of them, we're witches Penelope! They're not friends of ours. You're gonna get killed with them!" Her mother yelled as she walked closer to us.

"Then let me be killed!" Penelope said as she started to run away from her, carrying me.

Penelope was struggling to carry me, I was weak and I tried my best to not slow her down.

"Cmon Jade! We can't stop now!" She said as she looked behind us, I turned around to see the light of the torches getting closer.

"We have to go!" She yelled.

We carried on running when at some point we had to stop. "I can't anymore, Penelope. I'm weak. I don't have the strength."

She looked at me with a worried face.

"They must have went this way!" I heard a man yell.

Penelope tried picking me up from the ground when suddenly I heard someone shoot. I looked at Penelope, her hands were.....covered in blood.

"No" she mumbled as she fell on the ground.

"Penelope!" I yelled as I rushed towards her.

"Hey! Hey! Stay with me!" I cried but she was already gone. I tried picking her up but before I could they shot me too. I looked down where they shot me and fell on the ground. I was weak, I had no strength. It was easy to get me down with a single bullet. As I layed on the ground I looked around, Penelope was next to me dead. I saw some men walking towards us, one of them had a stake in his hand. He was moving towards me until I saw a girl appear.
