I open my swollen, tired eyes to see a dark room. For a brief moment I start to panic, but I quickly recognize the feeling of the arms around me. I don't remember falling asleep, but I'm laying down curled into Calum's chest with blankets that have been tucked in around me.
"When did I fall asleep?" I croak out, my voice raspy from sleep and my throat burns from all of my screaming.
"Hey, there she is. You passed out in my lap earlier when you were upset. I figured I'd let you sleep it off since you were so exhausted. I'm glad I did, you slept for nearly four hours so you must've needed it."
The fight comes back into my mind, how I yelled at her for suggesting I follow my heart for once. I wince, scrunching up my face at the thought of how we spoke to each other.
"Shit. Where is she?" I ask while rolling myself away and to the edge of the bed.
"Downstairs I think... are you going to talk to her?" I can hear the disdain in his voice over the idea.
"Yeah I really fucked up." I stand up and stretch my arms over my head. I start looking around for my pants, I think I left them on the floor.
"What happened..? I just heard you screaming and then when I got up here you were completely freaking out." I sigh, I should've expected him to have questions.
"She told me the truth and forced me to see something I wasn't willing to see."
Before I can elaborate I'm taken aback by someone yelling downstairs. I know that voice, and that tone.
It's a very angry and very drunk Rachel and no one should be in her path of destruction. I'm not even thinking anymore, my bare legs are carrying me down the stairs as fast as they can.
"You broke her fucking heart, she'll never open up again! You don't know her like I do. You don't know what she went through! it took her years to let someone in and she trusted you! You son of a-" I saw her pull her arm back, ready to swing.
"RACHEL ANNE." I scream running into the room and wrapping my arms around her, pinning her own arms to her sides. She's fighting my grip, but this isn't my first time with her and I know I can hold her.
"He hurt you, Cass. He's not getting away with it. You're willing to give up the best thing that could happen because of this idiot." She slurs, attempting to point her finger at him.
"Calm down, Ray. I worked things out with Lu, this isn't about him. You know it's about my parents more than anything." I shush her, keeping her arms down. Cal rushed down the stairs behind me and was taking in the scene. Luke is completely frozen. He just nearly took a punch from her and he didn't move an inch.
"What'd she drink, Ash?"
I've seen her drunk enough to know what kind of shit sets her off.
"I was making some whiskey sours, she had quite a few." He rubs the back of his neck nervously. I let out a sigh, whiskey makes for a very hard to control Rachel.
"Food and water, now Ashton." I say firmly, I don't want to boss him around but we need to get her at least a little sobered up and we need to do it fast.
"Lu, I'm sorry I need to get this under control. She didn't mean it, ok?" I say softly, maintaining eye contact with him. Ray starts to speak but I slap my hand over her mouth. I feel her bite me and let out a shriek.
"Rachel I swear to fucking god if you do that again I'll call Roger right now. Fucking behave yourself." She huffs and starts pouting. She's a god awful drunk on whiskey, she'd fight anyone when she's drunk in general which I should've thought of before.
