(y/n)'s POV:
I bit my lip in worry as I stared right back at Scarlett, arms crossed over my chest with my right hand picking on the skin of lips in nervousness. "I-I don't know Scar... isn't that risky..?"
"Look, I'm just a little bit pregnant. I've got this," Scarlett grinned, walking over to my hotel bed, pulling up her red leather shoulder bag, rummaging through it in search for something. She tosses me a thin rectangular box, which I had barely caught. My eyes meet hers for a brief moment, thumbing the printed letters on the box, eyes slowly widening as I read the words on it. "I was gonna get you a little cake but then we were asked to immediately fly to Turin. Sooo..."
"A little bit pregnant!? That's– that's not a little bit!"
Scarlett smiled a nervous grin, hand rubbing her swollen belly over the large bandana-shawl, giving a hint to how large her stomach was. "Okay, maybe a little lot."
It's May of 2014 and we're going to start filming the second Avengers movie in Turin, Italy. And that's just for the most part of it. I knew that the original Avengers cast were gonna be there and a few additional heroes, Hemsworth, Downey, Ruffalo, Samuel, oh, and even Mackie was going to make a few appearances. And get this, I just found out who's our bad guy — James frickin' Spader. God, am I screwed or what?
Are all our villains amazing, talented men? I mean, our first villain was Johann Schmidt, real talented guy, a sweet one too. He shared his French fries with me at one point during the shoot and in full costume. Then it was Tom Hiddleston, oh dear, quite the London boy, his accent is everything and he's such a sweetheart! And then there's Sebastian.
A literal baby.
A deadly one in a tight leather strap suit and a metal arm.
Fuckin' Marvel.
Shaking my head to rid of the thought, I turn back to stare at the redhead. "How far along are you again?"
"Hm, going six months soon. Wanna know the gender?" she grinned, carefully sitting on the edge of the bed. "Oh, and no telling the boys."
My eyes widen as she toed off her slip on Toms carelessly, laying down on the cold duvet. Putting two and two together, I put a hand on my back hip, thumb sticking out front with an incredulous glare Scarlett laughed at. "I'm sorry, even Christopher doesn't know?"
"I wanted to keep it on the low, public commentary and paparazzi gets me stressed. That kind of includes Chris," Scarlett explained with a halfhearted smile. I nod my head in understandment, going off to push my luggage away to one corner. There was no lie in the statement, Chris sure was a Twitter guy and also kind of a blabbermouth. "Also, I wanted to ask if you'd be willing to be the baby's godmother."
I halt all movements. That... that couldn't be possible, that just makes no sense. I turn back around and raise an eyebrow. "Wait... what?"
"Please? You and Chris. It's the reason I never told both of you right away."
I blinked back at her in shock. Me..? A godmother... Mom taught me and Carter that becoming a child's godparent is a great honor, despite different religious beliefs and norms. I was the twins' godmother but nobody else's since, well, most of my friends are still childless. And here, right now, one of my closest friends is having her first baby and she knew that being a godmother is something special. Especially to me.
