Maya felt different.

Maybe her robot genes had been activated, or maybe she just felt more at peace with herself now that she had been honest about who she was.

She no longer had to carry around this huge weight.

She strided into the park, a grin on her face when she saw her friends huddled around a bench.
"Hi! How's everyone doing?"

Quinn smiled.
"I feel like cráp, but I'm loving the new vibe, girl!"

"You seem happy for someone who just found out they're part robot", frowned Bennett.

Quinn rolled her eyes.
"And the old Cyclops' back."

"He never left", said Bennett.
"Look, I feel better now that I told people about my past, but we're not best buds all of a sudden."

"Still, it's a start", said Azlan.
She turned to face Maya.
"I'm liking this new you."

Yukishiro rushed towards the group, his yellow hat drooping down the side of his head.
Beads of sweat dripped down his face.

"Dude, what took you so long?", asked Silas, his eyes widening when he got a better look at him.
"You look like death."

On the verge of tears, Yukishiro fell onto the bench.
"I'm... sorry I'm late."

Maya's smile disappeared.
"What happened?"

Yukishiro furiously wiped away his tears.
"Someone threw... a r-rock at my house. It almost hit my Mum."

The others gasped at this news.

"What the hell?
Have they called the police?", asked Silas.

Yukishiro shook his head.
"They're worried they'll find out and come back."

"This is serious, Leo.
You have to call the police", said Azlan.

Quinn nodded.
"Yeah.
They'll sort it. Everything will be ok."

Yukishiro shook his head.
"You don't get it. My parents have been talking about my grades. They think me staying here is a mistake. My Dad said he never felt at home here, and thinks that me staying here is 'stunting my growth.'
My Mum and Dad want me to move back to Japan."

"What?", questioned a surprised Silas.

"You can't leave!", exclaimed Azlan.

"We can help you with your grades", offered Maya.

"You're literally my only fashionable friend! No offence, Azzy. You have to tell them you want to stay", said Quinn.

Yukishiro was stunned into silence. He had people telling him to stay instead of 'go back home.'

Tears formed in the boy's eyes.
"I'm so happy I have friends like you. But my Mum's really scared. She wouldn't go to sleep last night and asked if we could sleep in the same room."
