The next day, nothing really changed in terms of the group dynamic. If anything, their bond strengthened as they all felt betrayed by Maya.

But he was happy on his own. Thriving. Well, not thriving. Just surviving.

Quinn was particularly quiet today. She questioned the truth behind the simplest of things since Elodie exposed Maya's past.

"Quinn, which one?", asked Azlan.

"Huh?"

"Yukishiro asked which bowtie looks cuter on Corndog", reminded Azlan.

"Oh. The yellow one", she replied.

"There's no yellow one", said a confused Yukishiro.

"Still thinking about Maya?", asked Azlan.

Quinn nodded, a long sigh escaping her lips.

Silas didn't really know what to make of the whole situation. Maya had never been mean to him, but neither had Elodie. He just decided to stay away from Maya for the time being.

"Hey, atleast you have your boyfriend", said Silas, a smile appearing on his face.

Quinn laughed.
"Thanks. Babe."

Phillip scribbled things down in his notebook, before switching to his computer and typing away. He continued to type, even when someone knocked on the door.
"Come in!"

A girl entered the room, a nervous expression on her face. She placed her phone on his desk, making him look up at her.

"Mr. Everett, I think you should see this video", said Mary-Anne.

Mr. Everett watched the video intently, his attention fully drawn in when he saw Katie. His eyes a little when he saw her eyes change colour.

Meanwhile, Maya had walked into the school building, her head lowered and her eyes on the ground.

Someone shoved her shoulder as they walked by.
"Careful.
Wouldn't want you to hurt yourself.
I heard there are snakes in these corridors."

Maya recognised the voice as Bennett's.
"Bennett, I'm-"

"-And you had the nerve to talk to me about friendship", he interrupted. "You're as fake as they come, Ahmed."

Maya felt tears form in her eyes. She realised how hypocritical she had been. Yes, Elodie was the only friend she had treated badly, but that was still one friend too many.

From the corner of her eye, Maya spotted Yukishiro looking at her. She raised her eyebrows ever so slightly, to show her surprise.

He smiled sadly at her, before turning around and walking away.

Maya sighed. Bennett had already left, leaving Maya alone. Her eyes widened when she saw Elodie marching towards her.
