Chapter 9

-at school-

I got shown around and everything, so after my classes I go to where Fred told me to go, which felt like I took the wrong direction. The thought of turning around and eating lunch in the actual lunch room came to me. Before I could I get pulled by my shoulder "I have a loud voice, so if you're-" "chill, cous, it's me, Fred." Looking over my shoulder I see him in his costume again, so I still roll my eyes as I chuckle. "Where are we going??" I ask, but Fred says "I remember this much, you said you got a partner, right?" I nod my head.

"Yeah, the Dean told me that I have to share a work room with Tadashi Hamada... since we're majoring in the same category-" "I know Tadashi Hamada." My eyes widened at Fred's interruption "you do?!" I ask happily shocked that I won't have to search now. Fred nods saying "he's always in the place I told you to go, but I knew you'd chicken out. So I found you, and now we're here!" He pushed me towards a room, but I almost fell from a fast blur. 'Wait... WHAT?!' I look at the bike and quickly realize how that bike is built.... well, the obviousness of it.

My jaw dropped a little as I mumble "electro-mag suspension!-" "hey! Who are you??" She asks me, not taking off her biker helmet. Smiling I was about to introduce myself, but felt Fred's arm wrapped around my shoulders. "This is my little cousin, she's the new kid that transferred here from out of state" Fred says happily. I chuckle and say "exactly what he said, but including my name, which is (Y/n)... (Y/n) (L/n)." She finally takes off her helmet and blew a bubble with her gum as she stares blankly at me.

After a second she says "welcome..." then she walks away, I raise an eyebrow at her, but say "I never seen electro-mag suspension on a bike before." She looks at me saying "zero resistance, faster bike.. but not fast enough" she threw the wheel towards a bin. In that bin are a lot of wheels that she most likely discarded for them not being fast enough to her liking. I smile at the sight and say "from how cool this is as just an idea, I'm pretty sure you'll get it soon enough." Fred started to talk with that girl, so I walked over to this other station of what looked like a big blue pillars of some sort.

Can't really make an educated guess unless I can see what it does, so I keep walking "woah, woah woah woah woah! Behind the yellow line, please." "Later, Gogo! Hey Wasabi" Fred says as he walks over to us, so I tilt my head 'those are weird names.' Smiling I finally say my own introduction "new kid here, Fred's cousin, aka... (Y/n) (L/n)." Wasabi puts his goggles down saying "hello, (Y/n), prepare to be amazed" then he holds up an apple. At that point I was ready to catch one apple, but see it turn into about seven slices, so I caught one.

Wasabi sighed and turned a switch as he goes over to a table, but I look at the pillars and see why he told me not to get too close. "Laser-induced plasma??" I ask happily confused, so Wasabi says "yeah, but I'm aiming for it to be paper thin." Smiling I say "what about this part right here??" Wasabi hums in confusion, so I smirk a bit. Pointing at the equation I meant I inform him saying "you forgot to carry the two right there." Wasabi's eyes widened as she looks at his paper, then up at his laser-induced plasma machine.

Then he looks at his tools and smiles big, but I continue to look at them saying "how do you find anything in this mess??" I ask and twirl his keys around my finger. Wasabi groans and grabs his keys from me saying "I have a system, there's a place for everything. And everything's in its place-" "need this!" Gogo says and instantly runs off with a tool. From Gogo's need for a tool she also bumped into the table and moved everything, which annoyed Wasabi. Fred chuckles, but some girl says "excuse me! Coming through!~" Then she got her black sphere to her station.

I smile at the sight and she looks at Fred saying "hey, Fred!- oh my gosh!! You must be the new student! I've heard a bit about you!!!" Then she takes out her earbuds. Instantly she kissed both of my cheeks before she pulls me and says "it's so great to meet you." Looking closer at the stuff, since it's up and in my face, I can now tell what the black sphere is. "That's a lot of tungsten carbide" I answer out, so she nods saying "400 pounds of it. Come here, come here!!" She pulls me towards her work, so I look it over real quick and see what she's trying to do.

"Chemical... metal... embrittlement!" I say happily and smile big at the idea of it, thinking of how the reaction is gonna be when it's done. She nods saying "I know right!!" "Well done, Honey Lemon" Fred says, so I chuckle at him. Realization hit "woah... wait a minute, Honey Lemon? Gogo?? Wasabi???" I ask confused. Wasabi is somewhere behind me as he yells out "spill Wasabi on my shirt one time people- one time!" I roll my eyes softly. Then I say "what's with all the nicknames??" Fred smiles saying "I come up with the awesome nicknames."

That made me mumble "more like random-" "huh??" Fred asks since he didn't hear me, I just wave him off, meaning nothing. He continues to talk about stuff, so I laugh softly, but hear someone say "psst!... over here." Looking around I see a jet-black haired teen motioning for me to go over to him, so I smile. Going to him I see that he has his own lab- my smile grows as I see that he's Tadashi Hamada. "Tadashi Hamada... nice to meet ya, partner" I say and lift my hand up to shake "my name's (Y/n)."
