Chapter 16

(Y/n)'s p.o.v

-in Hiro's room-

I'm laying on my stomach as Tadashi explains to Hiro on how he can get into SFIT, which is impressing Callaghan in the showcase. As Hiro says "trust me, it will be" I started to fall asleep on Hiro's bed, feeling so comfortable. It only felt like five minutes went by until I woke up because of Hiro hitting his head on his desk. "Nothing! No ideas! Useless, empty brain!!" Hiro complains as he hit his head on his desk. I groan as I lean my head into my hand while barely staying awake again "didn't think you'd be washed up by fourteen."

Hiro then says "okay, at least you're awake, but I got nothing! I'm done! I'm never getting in!!" I deadpan at Hiro and watch as Tadashi gets up. He walks over to his younger brother and faced him saying "hey, I'm not giving up on you." That's when Tadashi grabs Hiro and makes him be upside down on his back as he jumps around. I smile as I sit up and grab out my phone "what're you doing?" Hiro asks after he groaned a bit. "Shaking things up!" Tadashi says with a big smile, so I say "use that big brain of yours to think of a way out."

That just confused Hiro "what??" "Look for a new angle" Tadashi clarified for me, so Hiro groans as he just stays upside down. After a second Hiro tilts a bit as he looks like he's getting an idea, so I look at what he's looking at. A big smile grows on my face as I feel more awake "I think I like where you're heads going. Well, your brain at least, I don't think I'd like to be in that situation" Tadashi laughs a bit at my words. "Tadashi, you just gave me an idea" Hiro says, so Tadashi says "great... (Y/n), help me get him down."

Nodding I grab Hiro's hands and start pulling him towards his bed, then when I say "okay, on-" I didn't get to finish because Tadashi assumed we were good. We screamed a bit as we tried not to fall, but Hiro ended up falling on top of me as I fell back. Groaning I say "you may be a toothpick, but you weigh like a fatty" Hiro nervously laughed. We both sat up and move away from the other, he's blushing as Tadashi is laughing a bit. With that Hiro says "wait, I finally got an idea for the showcase!" Then he starts running out.

-random time skip-

I've been helping Hiro out a bit with his entry for the showcase, but he didn't want me helping too much, since he still needs to do it himself. I was playing music on my phone as he worked until a notification went off "hold on, I gotta see who it is." "Aw come on! But it was a good song!" Hiro complains, so I nod saying "I know, but I still have friends. Some friends that can't hang out, so they text me instead" grabbing my phone I see it was Mabel. That got a big smile to go on my face as I open it and say "keep working, I'm gonna be back in a minute."

Walking out of the garage and into the coffee shop I sit down at an empty table and open up my phone to see what Mabel said.

M~ you're not gonna like this...
Y~ I'm not gonna like what??

Mabel got a bit hesitant for her reply, but I hate that she was right at the moment.... I gasp and my eyes get glossy at the picture. Dipper's kissing Pacifica!? I thought he liked me!!.... I drop my phone as I gasp and put my hands over my mouth. I bite my lip to prevent myself from crying, but I just stuff my phone back in my pocket and go back to the garage. 'Maybe working on my hoverboard will help... it's getting close to needing to be built now.' Walking into the garage I put my phone down and grab my bag, instantly I grab out my math for the hoverboard.

After sitting down and leaning against the wall I put my phone down and look over my math to see if I made any mistakes, this time I'm clicking my pen repeatedly. "(Y/n).. who was it?" Hiro asks confused, so I say "just a friend I made back at Gravity Falls." "Do you care if I put the song back on?" "Yeah yeah, do whatever" I mumble as I continue to think. After a second I hear Hiro say "(Y/n), are you okay??" "Yeah, why?" "Because Mabel sent you another text." I felt myself tense as my tears try to come back "wh-what's it say?" I barely ask out as I try not to cry.

"That she's sorry, who... who's in that picture?" Hiro asks confused, so I finally feel the tears leaving my eyes as I say "a-aN eX aFtEr I tAlK wItH hIm." I drop my papers as I cry into my hands, feeling so stupid... 'how could I not have seen this coming?!' I think upset. I felt pulled into a hug as I continue to cry, but Hiro says "I am so sorry.... everything's gonna be okay." "Is it?? Because it doesn't feel like it" I say as I continue to cry in his hold, that's how it was for a bit. After a while I pulled away and sniff as my nose feels runny and I feel a migraine coming on now.

Grabbing my phone that was by Hiro's hand I text Mabel again-

Y~ it's okay, gurl. I'll be fine! 😁😄😋
Y~ I'll try to get back to Gravity Falls for Thanksgiving! 💖

A shaky breath leaves my mouth as I say "l-let's get back to work... I'll talk to Dipper later" I look up at Hiro to see him looking at me with sympathy. "(Y/n)... just know that you're amazing, and that dude is stupid! You're a great girl that's in college. While he's in, what? Ninth grade!? You'll probably get far in life as he'll be a secretary in something stupid." I laugh softly at Hiro's words and say "you can say that again, now let's get to work, Toothpick." Hiro chuckles and we both try to get working on our projects, after a bit I finally figured out the math for my hoverboard.. things are starting to go up for me.
