Chapter 10

(Y/n)'s p.o.v

Tadashi smiled and says "nice to meet you, (Y/n), and I can't wait to see how big of a brain you got when we begin to work on my project." He shows me his work... or at least what he's saying is work, there's a few mistakes in random spots. "I take it you've been working on this for a while" I mumble as I grab a pencil and correct his mistakes. Tadashi chuckles saying "yeah, every now and again I forget to double check for mistakes. Which probably makes sense on how many times I've messed up on Baymax-" "you mean the robot?" I ask confused.

Tadashi raised an eyebrow at me saying "yeah, I just thought he needed a name, so I named him Baymax" I nod in understanding "okay, I see. Let me guess, I'm basically helping with your math since it's so flawed?" He could tell I was messing with him. He rolls his eyes softly saying "oh, ha ha, you actually are doing that and helping me build Baymax in general." I nod saying "this seems like a fun project to do.... a personal healthcare robot will really help out." Tadashi nods saying "that's what I was going for" we laugh softly and he says I can get started.

With that I corrected a few things and added my own equations that could work with this, but felt like I could keep on going with this. It didn't really feel like time passed by at all, but I hear Fred say "(Y/n), we should head home." My eyes widen at this "what?! But I'm doing so good" Tadashi looks over the work I did. His eyes widened a bit "I gotta say, I'm a bit impressed by how much you got done in four hours." "Wait.... it's only seven at night??" I ask confused, so Fred nods "yeah, but don't you have homework?" I shake my head.

Pointing at my bag I say "I get it done quickly during class, it seems a bit easy somehow... wait, I got an idea!" I grab my big with a big smile. "If Tadashi says it's okay, can I go to his place and work on this there?! Pleeeease??" I ask Fred. He narrows his eyes at me, so I look at him with a bit of puppy dog eyes, which actually worked. 'Since when did Fred become some type of adult figure to me?? He's not that much older than me.' Fred nods once, so I look back at Tadashi, he chuckles saying "okay, but we'd have to ride my scooter."

I smile and nod my head saying "I'm fine with that" we got everything packed up, so Tadashi says "you realize you're gonna be staying the night. Right??" I shrug my shoulders saying "I already had to stay the night in a place that's barely home. So-" "hey!" "So there's not much of a difference with staying at a friend's house" I answer out honestly. Fred is playfully glaring at me, so I chuckle and finally leave off with Tadashi on his red scooter. On the scooter I put the helmet on and he does the same with his helmet before I wrap my arms around him and we're off.

The wind in my face made me feel good.... 'wait, why is it so hard for me to make new friends that are my age??' I think to myself. Most of my friends have been older than me... this is just sad- "we're here, (Y/n)" I smile big. Jumping off the scooter I take off the helmet and say "this is a coffee shop..." "yeah, my Aunt Cass works here. She also lives above the shop, so come on" Tadashi explains and motions for me to follow him. We walk in and up some stairs, but once we do Tadashi is hugged tight by an older woman.

Looking behind her I see that there's a bowl of nachos with cheese on the table- "who's this little cutie!?" She asks me and kneels down to face me. Nervously smiling I say "hi, I'm (Y/n)-" "that's such a cute name!! You can just call me Aunt Cass, sweetie." Then she ruffles up my hair, so I fix it quickly as I hear Tadashi say "come on, (Y/n)! We can still work in my room." Aunt Cass gasps saying "you work with Tadashi?! That's amazing! I have a different smart boy up there too. Hiro!! You should come meet this girl!! I think you'll hit it off!" I blush and shake my head "u-uhh, I don't think-" "I'm busy, Aunt Cass."

Tadashi motions for me to follow him again, so I go up the stairs and see two different rooms that are connected but separated by a paper screening door. In this room is a bunch of different stuff, but there's also a boy that looks like he's around my age. "Hiro, this is (Y/n), (Y/n) that's my little knucklehead of a brother, Hiro.... who's obsessed with Bot Fighting." Hiro rolled his eyes, not really looking at me as he looks at Tadashi instead with a knowing look. "I'm not obsessed with it... betting on it, sure, but that's because it's so easy!" Hiro defends himself.

My eyes widen as I say "dude, that's crazy! I didn't know that bot fighting is an actual thing!! I have my own bot myself." I set my bag down and get on my knees as I search through my supplies, but Hiro scoffed. "I'm pretty sure it won't be as good as my bot, but it'll probably be cute-" Hiro is being smug. I smirk and pull out my bot, it's able to turn into two robots to double team and they're not easy to take down. Thing is it also looked adorable (to throw people off)... especially with the bow Mabel put on it.

Hiro starts to chuckle "really?? That's your bot?" I nod my head saying "don't let its appearance fool you, it's made to do that, Hiro." Now it's my turn to be smug as I take out the remote and move the robot around a bit. Then it lets out its blade and twirls it around a bit, after that I make it look like it cut itself in half. Hiro chuckles smugly, so I let both of the bots run around and run towards Hiro to scare him. He girly screams as he jumps off of his bed, so I chuckle smugly as Tadashi chuckles softly.
