Chapter 7

Everything with Weirdmageddon happened, I helped Wendy until Dipper found us - well, fell into the trap, but I finally figured out my feelings. It's way too late since we're at the bus, getting ready to go out and away from Gravity Falls. Mom always found my robots... complicated, but to me they were so easy to move around and everything. Especially when I made my very own robot that's good with fighting and stuff... it's remote controlled. I stand in front of the group that I grown close to during the summer, and it's only because of Mabel and Dipper.

"Do you really have to go? There's still so much we haven't done together" Candy says sadly to Mabel, so she answers with "Summer's over, Candy." I nod saying "it's time for us to grow up-" "but not too much" Dipper jokes as he wraps his arms around our shoulders. I blush as Mabel laughs a little, that's when I see Grenda punching herself so she wouldn't cry. The sight of them wanting their feelings punched away made me smile, but Mabel hugging them made me feel so sad. 'This really is our last time being together... I'm probably gonna be the last one to get dropped off since I have to go to the airport.'

"Grunkle Stan, thanks for wearing my goodbye sweater" Mabel says to Grunkle Stan, so he answers with "uh, it's cold out, I had to." Soos then says "what? But it's, like, 80-something degrees out today-" "can it, Soos!" The Grunkles yell at Soos. We laugh at that, but I see Wendy right by my side as she looks at me, my eyes start getting glossy. She kneels down to my level saying "hey, you mean a lot to me, Fox" I cringe at the nickname. Wendy remembers that's my nickname from Bill, so she cringed a bit saying "sorry, but he took my nickname."

I laugh softly as a few tears fall "you're a lot to me too" I say and we fist bump, but she stands up and switched hats with Dipper. "That's something to remember me by" Wendy says and digs into her pocket for the envelope. Wendy then hands it to me and says "read it the next time you miss Gravity Falls" I smile and say "noted." "Last bus leaving Gravity Falls, all aboard!" The driver says, so I look back at the group, feeling so much emotion. I walk over to Stan and Ford saying "don't forget me, ya weirdos" they share a laugh at the nickname I gave them.

Stan then messed up my hair saying "only if you don't forget us at this fancy school of yours!" "I hope you do great at SFIT, (Y/n). From what I seen, you'll knock their socks off!" Ford says afterwards and lightly punched my arm. I laugh softly and say "I hope so..." with that I stand with the twins again, I basically said all my goodbyes. Mabel then says "guess we said goodbye to everyone, except-" then Waddles comes into view. Tears finally start to come, so I say "I-I'll... be on the bus" I walk in and try not to cry my eyes out.

That's when I hear Stan yelling about Waddles staying with the Pines family in California, so I laugh softly and imagine him threatening the driver. I'm looking out the window, but I can feel someone sit next to me, so I look and see Dipper. In front of us is Mabel, so I smile softly as I look back out and see everyone waving to us their goodbyes again. We wave again, but the bus finally started to leave, so I start tearing up again... this is my whole life. I'm surprised it all basically got big and full when it was summer, but I look at Dipper, he's smiling as he's looking out the window.

He looks at me and blushed softly, so I give him a closed eyed smile as I say "after this entire summer, you're still embarrassed to look me in the eye." We laugh softly, but we can also hear Mabel snoring, so we know that she's asleep right now. I look back out as I feel my hand softly grasping his "you realize we're not gonna see the other for a while. Right??" Dipper sighs and says "yeah, I knew this was happening when you mentioned SFIT." I look at him and hug him as I mumble "I'm so sorry" Dipper hesitated to hug back saying "for what? You didn't do anything."

My tears come back as I say "that's it! After my entire summer of knowing you, I didn't realize that... that..." I could feel Dipper's face get a bit warm. "You didn't realize what?" Dipper asks me confused, so I sigh and move to look him in the eye. I was right, he's blushing, but I wasn't expecting his eyes to be a bit wide as I look at him. "Dipper, throughout our entire summer we went from strangers, to friends, to best friends.." I trail off. Dipper nods saying "to that one friend that still hangs out with you, even if they rejected you."

We laugh softly, but I roll my eyes playfully saying "I didn't reject you! I told you I was trying to think if I had feelings for anyone. And I finally realized, Dipper... you're the one I have feelings for, and this is really stupid time to admit it." Dipper's face went a dark shade of red as he looks me in the eyes "really?? Now!? When we're-" "I know. I know! It's terrible timing" I answer, but I look at him saying "better late than never, right??" Dipper looks down. Then he looks up at me and pulled me close, I thought it was gonna be another hug.

Not being fully prepared for the kiss my eyes widen at his random courage, but I kiss back anyways as I put my hands around his neck. His arms were around my waist, but we separated to look the other in the eyes with big smiles. I laugh softly and say "dude, you realize that we won't be able to see the other for alone time. Right?" Dipper laughs saying "yeah, I know... but I can at least look forward to the holidays. Mom and dad said that they'd consider letting me and Mabel go to Gravity Falls for them."
