~ addison pov

"Yes father, I will be home right after my class. I should be out of here by 4." I said over the phone to my father who had been calling me non-stop all day. His girlfriend was arriving to LA tonight and she was moving in with her son. She was moving from Maryland and had shipped all of her things earlier in the week. This was very new for my siblings and I, but I wanted to be happy for my father and support him. Besides, I really liked Lisa, she was so sweet and they seemed like a good fit for each other. After my mother passed, my father refused to speak to any women for years. But him and Lisa hit it off very quickly and had been going strong for two years.

He was beyond nervous about this new transition in their relationship. But I knew he was really just nervous about her son also moving in. She had a 21 year old son, Bryce Hall. I had heard of him, but didn't really know him too well. He was famous, very famous but was also known for being the bad boy in LA. I was told that he grew up without a father, so my dad was of course nervous about the role he would play in his life. With three kids of his own, he just hoped that we would all get along for now.

I knew I could get along with anybody. As long as Bryce didn't bring his party animal antics into my home, we wouldn't have any problems. My brother, Tim, already gave me major headaches with him wanting to always party. I hoped that Bryce could be a good influence on him and that they could build a good relationship. It was always difficult for Tim to be the only boy, so maybe this was what he needed. I knew I wasn't his favorite person around, but maybe Bryce could be.

My father rambled to me over the phone as I walked to my class. As I made it to the auditorium for Chemistry, I had to hang up. I walked in, looking for Mads who had saved me a seat. As I saw her, I ran up to her, seeing that she was on Facetime with someone. As I took my seat, she ended the call, giving me an innocent smile as if I hadn't just seen her talking to a boy.. a cute boy at that.

"Who was that?" I asked, Mads quickly telling me that it was nobody, but I could see her blushing. She was saved by our professor beginning to lecture.. at least for now. As soon as our class ended, my questions began once again. Mads tried to dodge them, but I was persistent. "Just give me a name!" I said, giving her a sweet smile. I probably wouldn't know who he was anyways, but if I had his name, I could at least stalk him later today. Mads was my best friend and I had to make sure she was talking to someone who deserved her, she deserved the best.. nothing less.

She sighed as she gave in. "Jaden.. Hossler." She said, including his last name once I gave her a look. Hm.. that name sounded familiar but I didn't know where I knew him from. I made a mental note to look him up later, but for now I asked her basic questions. She showed me a picture of him, his face bringing back memories but it was all still a blur. "I met him a couple of days ago through mutual friends, he's really cool and nice.. and cute." she muttered the last word, making me giggle. Mads caught feelings so easily, it was cute but it all still seemed very innocent so I would let her do her thing.

"So, step-mom is moving in today?" She asked in an attempt to change the conversation. I nodded as I told her that I needed to go straight home today to help my father manage his panic attack. I might be a bit dramatic.. but for what other reason did he want me home. It wasn't my significant other that I was going to be receiving.. but I would be there for my father to support him.

"That's exciting! You living with Bryce should also be interesting." She said, smirking. She always constantly bothered me about him, telling me that he was very cute and would be difficult to resist. I always ignored her comments, I could never hook up with someone who was practically going to be my new step-brother.. that was very cringey. "He is actually one of Jaden's best friends!" She said.
