(Y/N) tapped her foot nervously against the pavement, she adjusted her sweater once more before taking a deep breath and walking in through the doors.
She had parked around five minutes ago and the woman at the gate said Bruce would meet her in the lobby and then gave her directions on where to park.
She took a glance around the large space and when she didn't see Bruce she pulled out her phone to text him, but before she could hit send he hurried into the room.
"(Y/N)" he called and her head shot up, a smile forming on her lips as she tucked her phone away.
"I was just about to text you" she said as she pulled him into a hug, pulling apart with a quick peck on the lips.
Bruce drank in (Y/N)'s appearance, casual like he'd said but nice. She had a (F/C) sweater on which hung loosely off one shoulder and a pair of jeans. A small black bag hung off her shoulder settling at her waist, black trainers to match.
"You look lovely" Bruce sighed placing another kiss on her well glossed lips.
"You look fantastic too" she hummed as he took her hand in his and began leading her down the hallway.
"Wanda's cooking, the rest of the team are in the living room. They're all really excited to meet you" he explained as they made their way towards the living room.
"Well I'm nervous as fuck" she laughed and he gave her hand a comforting squeeze.
"You'll be great, just maybe don't use that language around Steve, he doesn't like it" Bruce smiled.
"How much have you told them about me?" (Y/N) asked when they stopped outside a set off doors. Bruce's hand gripped the doorknob.
"Not much, trust me you'll be fine. Are you ready?" He questioned placing a kiss on (Y/N)'s cheek. She nodded although still unsure of herself.
Bruce pushed the door open and all conversation seized as the entire room shifted their attention to Bruce. He stopped at the entrance of the room, pulling (Y/N) in after him. There were a few seconds of silence passed until Tony jumped up from his seat, a big smile on his face.
"Wow he actually did it, great job Banner!" Tony exclaimed as he grabbed ahold of (Y/N) by the shoulders and steered her over to the couch.
"Did what?" She asked confused.
"Managed to get a girl who's way out of his league" Tony explained as he plonked himself down on the couch next to (Y/N).
"I wouldn't say I'm out of his league" she hummed and shifted awkwardly in her seat. Her eyes met Bruce's to send him an apologetic smile only to find him already giving her one. They both let out a soft snicker at the similarities of their actions, which earned a few confused glances from the others.
"Sweetheart have you seen yourself, way out of his league" Tony snorted.
"I thought you were supposed to be his friend" (Y/N) mumbled, only Steve and Bucky seemed to hear with their enhanced hearing and they stiffled a laugh
"Hm say something?" Tony asked.
"No" (Y/N) replied almost too quickly, luckily for her Tony was too preoccupied with his drink.
"So where did you and Bruce meet?" Bucky interjected. (Y/N) eyes drifted from Bucky to Bruce and then back.
"Wow he really has told you fuck all about me" she chimed, immediately cringing at her choice of words when Steve cleared his throat "sorry" she whispered.
"She uh swears like a sailor" Bruce added "and I don't think it's going away anytime soon" he mumbled. Choosing to ignore Bruce (Y/N) continued.
"We met at therapy" she said to Bucky.
"I thought you said you weren't that type of doctor" Tony butted in.
"I'm not-" Bruce groaned but was once again cut off.
"So you're finally going to therapy, proud of you buddy" Tony laughed as he moved his arm so it hung over the sofa behind (Y/N), she shifted slightly.
"Wait I though therapist couldn't date their patients or whatever?" Sam added.
"Group therapy" (Y/N) said pointedly "we go to group therapy" she explained. "Honestly I don't understand why Bruce still goes, he's got his shit together" she hummed. Tony scoffed.
"You call turning green having his shit together?" he exclaimed, lifting himself from his seat to get another drink. Upon returning he found Bruce had stolen his spot and had pulled (Y/N) in close to his side.
"Well he seemed fine that time I threw a book at him" she shrugged.
"I'm sorry doll, did you say you threw a book at him?" Bucky asked, mouth hanging open in shock.
"I'm probably not making the best impression, I swear I don't throw things anymore... that often" she apologised.
"Okay sure, but what possessed you to throw a book at Bruce of all people?" Clint added.
"I was upset and the book was just there" she said plainly, really not seeing there point.
"And he didn't turn all big and green?" Tony asked, wide eyed.
"It bruised like a motherfucker, sorry, it bruised pretty bad but he was fine. Totally my fault won't happen again" (Y/N) apologised.
"Can we just move on from the book please?" Bruce groaned.
"Wait, is that why he had that massive bruise like right in between his eyebrows?" Natasha questioned. (Y/N) nodded.
"Damn" Sam sighed looking at (Y/N) with what seemed to be pride.
"So where do you work?" Steve interrupted suddenly diverting the conversation in order to save Bruce anymore embarrassment.
"Wait wait wait. Before you answer his question" Tony began, he moved across the room to place himself on the arm of Clint's chair only to have the archer shove him off. Straightening his posture he continued "you don't look like you have anger issues"
"I threw a book at him what more do you need?" She deadpanned.
"Fair enough"
