"WHERE ARE YOU TAKING ME, DARLING?" Elena asked her boyfriend in a playful manner as he has both of his hands on her waist to not prevent her from falling since she was blindfolded. For their two-year anniversary the couple wanted to celebrate their relationship in a special way this year, well, mostly Jaebeom since she had no idea he would propose to her and he wanted to make it a big deal by planning a huge surprise with a romantic dinner by their favorite lake. He's been planning everything with the help of his friends and family and he kept a pretty good job hiding it from her.

     And now, walking next to his oblivious girlfriend, the day has finally come. He was gonna propose and boy was he nervous. The topic wasn't new between them. Elena had talked about settling down and wanting to get married one day, but he wasn't quite sure if he was the right man for her. He never believed in marriage when he experienced how his parents divorced and drifted apart, so that idea of spending the rest of his life with someone wasn't something he desired and wanted.

     However, having pined for a girl for 10 years said otherwise. As cheesy and corny it sounded, he didn't care. He was truly, deeply, and madly in love with her and has completely changed his life. He couldn't deny his feelings towards her and finally accepted them, even though she was unavailable, but he waited. His heart was always ready to jump from his chest whenever he saw her, and he would feel his face heat with redness when his friends teased him about being a lovesick puppy. He couldn't be happier to be in her presence and he was ready to take the next step.

     "Penny for your thoughts?" Elena interrupted his thoughts with a giggle whilst she fixed the fold resting between her eyes. She squinted her nose and let out a small sneeze making her quietly laugh at herself, being oblivious of Jaebeom's heart eyes.

     He cleared his throat and chuckled, "Sorry, baby. We're there now. Let me help you up." he told her, grabbing her by the waist and picking her up, and placing her on the green field. She let out a surprised yelp and laughed as her feet hit the soft greenery. "Can I take the blindfold off now?"

     With a deep chuckle, he brought his hand on the fold and gently removed it, revealing her ethereal face. His breath got caught in his throat as he mesmerized her beauty. Elena opened her eyes and exhaled, "Finally, I can breathe properly. Where are we?" she mumbled under her breath, feeling his warm touch.

     Taking a step back, she took a look around her surroundings and almost gasped the serenity in front of her. A mob of flies rose into the air, illuminating into the night. The lake was a rather small area and not many people knew about this place. It was a safe space for them and often visited this place when they wanted peace and quiet.

     The tickling pricking her legs from the grass brought her back from reality and she turned to her side, noticing a basket full of food resting on a big carpet. Elena's eyes softened and she sighed in delight, "A picnic by our favorite lake. Couldn't ask for a better anniver-" she bubbled while turning around, but her words got stuck in her throat when she saw Jaebeom getting down on one knee, holding a small red velvet box, containing a diamond ring.

     Elena instinctively covered her mouth with her hand and she could feel her tears forming into her eyes as she watched him, a soft smile plastered onto his face. "I couldn't wait, El. I love you so fucking much and I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. You mean the world to me and I can't thank you enough for always being by my side. I couldn't ask for a better partner, and you complete me. I never thought I would be able to ask this, will you marry me?" he confessed, his eyes glistening with tears, patiently waiting for her answer.

     Elena's heart soared through her chest and she was at loss for words. Wiping her tears, she slowly got down to his level and looked at him with wide eyes. She let out a laugh, her smile widening when she took a look at the ring. Jaebeom's eyes softened, "You alright, baby? W-Was it too soon, I can-" she shook her head and took the ring, delicately placing it on her finger.

     Jaebeom's stomach soared with butterflies and he gave her a grin, "So, is that a yes?" he shyly asked her, his cheeks painted a crimson red. Elena sniffed and nodded her head, "I-I'm sorry, I just- I didn't expect that." she admitted, smiling sheepishly at him.

     He panicked and held her hand, "I'm-sorry, El-" she cut him off by locking her lips with his, holding his face in her hands as she kissed him passionately. He soon melted into the kiss and held the back of her neck to deepen the kiss. Pulling away they gasped for air, leaning their forehead against each other, "It's a yes." she mumbled against his lips, giggling at the end.

     Once he heard a yes, he pulled away and let out a cheer. Elena laughed out loud when he got up on his feet and danced around the field. She joined him and he picked her up, making her squeal as he kissed her. "Oh my god, we're getting married!" they said in unison, making them laugh. He brought them back on their spot and he sat down, placing her down on his lap. "Well, the food won't eat by itself. So I suggest we eat because all that proposal shit messed up my appetite." he joked, grabbing a bottle of champagne and opening it.

     Elena chuckled and grabbed a slice of pizza, "Man, I haven't eaten pizza for so long." she said before taking a bite. She let out a moan and pointed at the food, "Oh my god, I love you." she muffled into her food, making him scoff.

     "Are you talking to me, or are you talking to the pizza?" he playfully said, looking at her with a withering look. She shifted around his lap and turned to him, "Do you want me to lie to you?" she answered with a pointed look, making him laugh out loud.

     "This girl, I swear," Jaebeom muttered under his breath. He watched her diving down the food with a big smile on his face. He was officially doomed, and he was okay with that. Everything for the woman he loved.
