"Finn! Does this make me look too gay?" Kurt yelled from his bedroom. He heard a bunch of clunking on the stairs and Finn appeared in the doorway of Kurt's room. Blaine had told Kurt about his family's opinions on gay people, and that many of them would find any reason to try to get under his skin. Kurt decided that if Blaine's cousins were going to pick on him, it wasn't going to be for his wardrobe choices.
"Yes?" Finn was confused by this question. Kurt didn't usually worry about dressing 'too gay'. It was more toned down than his regular outfits however. The look lacked a brooch of any kind, and there was little to no accessories. Of course there were still tight pants, but over all it looked much simpler than his outfits had been in the past week. "You look great little bro."
Kurt smiled. Finn plopped a hat on his head jokingly, but Kurt nodded in approval. "Not a bad choice. Pretty good for a first attempt." Then he grabbed his coat and passed by Finn. "Now I must be going. Don't want to be late."
"Have fun kid. Just please be back before 11. The roads are getting icy, and I don't want you getting hurt." Burt called from the living room, watching some basketball game. Kurt didn't recognize either of the teams playing, but his father and Finn seemed very interested.
"Okay Dad, I'll drive safe. I love you." Kurt said and walked outside to the car. It had started snowing, covering the grass with what looked like powdered sugar. Kurt would've stayed to marvel at the weather from his porch steps if he didn't have to be at the Anderson's in fifteen minutes.
So, he hopped into the car and drove off knowing his night was about to get much stranger.
*seventeen minutes later*
Kurt pulled up to the curb next to Blaine's house (the driveway was already full of cars) and ran as fast as his long legs could take him. He got sped up to the porch and knocked on the door, which was answered by Blaine. He stepped outside to greet him, with a hug. "Hey! So glad you came. C'mon in."
They made it to a little nook before being stopped by a girl with blonde hair and brown eyes. "You must be Kurt! It is so great to finally meet you." Kurt smiled, and the girl continued. "Oh, I'm Blaine's cousin, Heather." She explained. Heather seemed very excited to meet him. It'll be interesting to learn more about her. Kurt thought. "He talks about you a lot. Like, a lot a lot." Kurt and her laughed a little and Blaine looked embarrassed. "I should get back to the party, nice meeting you Kurt."
"Yep, that's Heather. She's great. I would steer clear of her older brother Chad, though. He's a d-bag." Blaine said and Kurt giggled. "What's so funny?"
"Nothing, I've just never met someone actually named Chad before." Kurt learned in closer. "Is he like, a chad?" Blaine nodded and Kurt stifled a laugh. "Well now I'm interested."
"No! Trust me, you really don't want to meet him." He pointed over to the back corner of the living room where a few older looking boys and men were laughing. "In fact, just stay away from them in general." Kurt looked a little disappointed, but nodded nonetheless. Blaine's expression shifted from nervousness to sympathy. "I'm sorry honey, they just aren't the most accepting people." What confused Blaine about this is that Kurt smiled. "What?"
Kurt kept the grin plastered to his face. "Oh nothing. Except you called me honey."
Now it was Blaine's turn to smile. "I really want to kiss you right now."
"Me too." Kurt pouted. His smile came back. "Now come on, I would love to meet you mother Bee." Blaine had a dopey smile on. "Now what's up with you?"
He shrugged. "You called me Bee." Kurt froze a bit. "Oh no don't worry, I like it. It's very cute." Kurt glanced around quickly then placed a quick kiss on Blaine's lips. Luckily, nobody saw. Even if (a big if) Kurt was introduced as Blaine's boyfriend at dinner, they didn't want to get any hate from the 'frat boys' before then. "Now for my mom. She's over in the kitchen helping my uncle Dave cook. Lets go."
