Kurt had to hastily leave Rachel's house. Both her and Mercedes were very busy on Sunday. Rachel had apologized for it, but waking him and Mercedes up at 4:30 am might have been extreme. So as soon as Kurt got home he trudged up the stairs, threw his bag somewhere near his desk and fell asleep.
It was a lazy Sunday for Kurt. Finn was out with Puck, and Rachel was going to a Funny Girl convention (why or how those existed, Kurt had no idea). Mercedes had a family gathering. So, not knowing what to do he put on Hairspray. He got to (The Legend of) Miss Baltimore Crabs when he decided that this was not how he wanted to spend a Sunday. Sure, Hairspray was great but this would be the 23rd time he's seen it. And it just didn't feel like a movie day.
I could call someone. He thought. Go somewhere (only we know, this isn't part of Kurt's thoughts I'm just listening to that song right now). He scrolled through his contacts. He didn't know Santana or Brittney well enough and he didn't want to spend his day awkwardly nodding while they talked. Quinn seemed nice, but she said something about a church thing. He kept scrolling and eventually came across Blaine's name because the author of this story needs to advance the plot. He clicked call, and started to pre-plan what he was going to say.
¨Hello Kurt. What's up? Is there a fire? Oh god, is your house on fire? I'll be over as soon as I can!¨ Blaine said, which made Kurt wonder if there ever had been a fire, or if that was just how Blaine answered the phone.
¨No Blaine, there's no fire. I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out later today. Maybe go to that nature park again?¨ Kurt asked.
¨Sounds perfect! I'll be over in 20.¨ Blaine hung up. Kurt got really excited, then realized that he was still in his pajamas. So he rushed up to his room and started tearing through his drawers. He finally decided on an outfit, and when he walked downstairs he was greeted by Carole Hummel-Hudson.
¨Where are you going sweetie?¨ She asked from the kitchen island.
¨To a nature park.¨ Kurt answered while walking over to grab his shoes. Carole smiled.
¨Is it with this Blaine kid again?¨ Carole strolled over to Kurt with a knowing look. His face flushed and he nodded. ¨He seems like a good kid, I like him.¨ At that the doorbell rang and Kurt ran to answer it. Standing there was Blaine in a white polo shirt with maroon slacks. And a bowtie, of course. There was always a bowtie. There were quick hellos, and then they walked out to Blaine's car.
Kurt sat in the passenger seat, and saw a picnic basket in the seat behind him. Blaine smiled. ¨I figured if we are headed there, why not a picnic! Unless you already ate today. Sorry I should have asked.¨ Blaine said sheepishly. Kurt shook his head, he hadn't eaten yet. ¨Good. Well not good that you haven't eaten, but good that I can use the picnic basket.¨ Then he looked really concerned. ¨Unless you are allergic to something. Oh god, I forgot to ask you about allergies. What if you eat something and your throat swells and you die or something-¨
¨Blaine. Really I'm fine. I don't have allergies. And don't stress.¨ Kurt said, and this seemed to reassure him. ¨We should head over there.¨
¨Yeah.¨ Blaine pulled out of the Hummel-Hudson driveway, heading to the park.
The weather was perfect today. The sky was blue and there wasn't a rain cloud in sight. The grass on the hill was soft to the touch. And best of all, Kurt thought I'm with Blaine. He looked so cute laying in the grass, plucking the daisies out of the ground surrounding them. Kurt soon discovered that Blaine was weaving them into a flower crown. Once he finished he held it up to Kurt, looking proud.
¨Here.¨ Blaine scooted closer to him and placed the flower crown on Kurt's head, making sure not to mess up his hair. While adjusting the crown, they caught each other's eyes. Kurt could feel his face getting red, while Blaine just gave him a goofy smile. ¨And.... Done!¨ Then they laid back down to admire the clear sky.
Kurt figured this was a good time as any, so he asked him. ¨Sooo, Blaine. Are you gay? I'm not trying to stereotype, it's just that a lot of kids in Glee are so, so I was just wondering if you were too. Sorry, it's a weird question.¨
¨Oh no, it's okay. I do wear a lot of hair gel.¨ Blaine said cooly. ¨To answer your question Kurt, I am. Well kind of. I'm bisexual. So yeah, I'm still pretty gay.¨ (And just as valid as any other person)
¨And your parents, they're cool with it, right?¨ Kurt said. They better be.
¨When I came out my mother said 'Well it took you long enough.' And my dad, he doesn't love that I like guys, but he loves me. So he's okay with it.¨ Blaine said, pretty happily. Something told Kurt that it wasn't always that way, which made him a bit sad. Blaine deserved a parent who would love him no matter what. ¨Man I do love this place. Also, not to stereotype but... are you gay Kurt?¨
Kurt nodded. ¨Yes, very.¨ And I think I like you Blaine. Kurt thought. I think I like you a lot. Blaine pulled him out of his thoughts.
¨That's cool. Now that I'm thinking about it, most kids and glee do seem to be gay. At least a little bit.¨ Blaine said. He grabbed the picnic basket from his right to pull out some strawberries. Blaine offered Kurt some, but he declined so Blaine just started munching on them. ¨Let's see, Brittney and Santana..¨
¨Rachel and Quinn, though they refuse to admit it.¨ Kurt added on. Blaine nodded vigorously.
¨And Faberry is a beautiful ship name!¨ Blaine agreed, putting the carton of strawberries. ¨And you can't tell me that they don't flirt during glee. Sandwich?¨
¨Yes please.¨ Blaine handed Kurt a sandwich. ¨And I know right! I bet we're going to be at a high school reunion and they are going to be married with kids.¨
And they sat chatting about anything and everything for the rest of the afternoon. Yes. Kurt thought. This was much better than watching Hairspray for the 23rd time.

Hello again! So to address the obvious, yes Blaine is bi in this. The reason is I HATED the biphobia in Glee and thought that it would've been good to see male bisexual representation in the series. I understand that he was originally just gay.
Have a great day (you are worth it!!)
