The next day, Skye walked into her modern corner office at work to find a small vase with flowers. The flowers were simple, yet beautiful. Part of her dreaded reading the card. She knew if they were from Marcus, she would have to shut him down. She was already regretting inviting him back to her place as she reached her desk.

Skye opened the card without enthusiasm. The message inside was as simple as the arrangement. "Thank you, -Grant".
With a sigh of relief, she put the card under her keyboard and moved the flowers to the left corner of her desk. The subtle fragrance was welcome and quite soothing. Skye signed into her computer and updated Mr. Dermott's calendar. She printed out key materials for his meetings for the day and edited the details on the latest presentation to show the current date.
She placed folders and bottles of water around the conference room table, then plugged in the projector for the presentation. With a few minutes to spare, she checked in with Mr. Dermott to let him know everything was ready for his first meeting of the day.
"Come in." He called, after she knocked on the door.
"Mr. Dermott, I wanted to let you know your first meeting should arrive in about five minutes."
"Thank you."
"No problem."
"You're glowing today."
"Thanks." She smiled.
A few moments later, an eagerly smiling man who looked to be in his early to mid-twenties entered the building.
"Heads up boss, 8:30 sharp is here."
"Thank you."
Skye walked down the hall and greeted the client, then showed him to the conference room.
