Jimin POV
Jungkook continued teasing me as he took bigger strides making me run just to walk side by side with him."Hey! You're too fast!"
"I'm not walking fast, this is my normal walk." He nonchalantly said while I can literally feel that playful smirk shrouded by that unconcerned face."You're really doing this to me, huh?" I mumbled ready to take my revenge. I pretended to be offended and suddenly stopped walking.
He's already few steps ahead when he realized I'm not by his side. He immediately turned his back.
A pale shimmers of red moonlight brushed his face. His eyes were dreamy, searching. He looked like a lost prince looking for his princess. Just like in movies.
He smiled widely as soon as our gaze met.
I was taken a back.
-Jimin's Memory-
"Ahjussi, I'm sorry but can you drive faster?" I said pushing my worned off eyeglasses already panicking. I only have 30 minutes before Taehyung's scheduled departure.*SMS notification*
Taehyung: Jimin ah, where are you? I'm leaving soon :-(Me: I'll be there soon! I'm sorry :-(
I heaved a sigh.
I'm working part time as assistant writer in a small publishing company and our team been working our ass off since yesterday to meet deadline of publications.
Talking about bad timing.
I clutched at the book I wrote myself as a gift for Taehyung. I hoped I can make it in time.
The driver drove faster as requested, gladly there's no much traffic today. Within 25 mins, I was able to arrive at the airport.
"Thank you so much!" I handed the payment immediately and hurriedly run towards departure area. From a far, I could see Taehyung and his coach already preparing to leave. It was obvious he was sulking. His eyes kept looking around while frowning. He turned his back in surprise. "Jimin ah!" His face lit up and his frown turned into wide smile.
"I'm s-sorry... I'm la-" I was not able to finish when he suddenly pulled me to an embrace. "W-why are you so late?" He uttered with disappointment.
"I-I'm sorry." I felt bad for not being with him for the past days. "Ah wait... I have something for you, " I mumbled as I broke his hug. I rummaged through my paper bag and give him my present before I forget.
"What is this?" He asked.
"I-It's my first published book."
"Really? you really made it?!"
"Y-yes... It's especially for you." I said a bit embarrassed. " I want you to take this too." I took out a small vintage box with necklace inside. "It's my lucky charm. The only memory I have from my parents, so please take care of it."
"You're really giving this precious thing to me?!"
"I want you to be safe and return here with happiness once you achieve your dreams."
He just look at me. His eyes started tearing.
"I-I will really miss you." He said.
I gave him a light jab and smile widely to hide the tears that are about to break free. "W-what?!Why being sentimental?!" I forcefully laughed. "You are the best Taehyung ah! You will be the best pianist!"
"W-who's being sentimental?!" He said wiping his tears.
"Taehyung, it's time to go." His coach said.
Taehyung just nodded.
"Promise me you'll come back to us and return that necklace with a smile. Win or loose, you're still the best for me!" I said and hug him one last time.
"I promise." He said and smiled before he finally left for his training.
-------That gaze.
That wide smile.
Why does Jungkook looked at me the same way as how Taehyung looked at me that day?
My heart ached with the sudden flash of memories.
"Hey, what are you doing there?" Jungkook said walking closer.
I took a step backwards.
He stopped.
"A-Are you alright?"
Why do I feel like crying?
I just continued walking backwards the more he walks closer.
"Jimin?"
Jungkook POV
He just continued stepping farther the more I approached him. "Jimin?" I'm starting to get worried. What's with that expression?
"H-hey..." Why did he keep walking away? It seemed that he didn't notice he's nearly off the lane. My eyes widened when I see a fast car approaching. "Jimin! Watch out!" I hurriedly ran and pulled him to my chest.
The car just fastly passed us as if nothing happen. What an asshole. "HEY! THIS IS NOT A RACE TRACK!" I shouted but the car is way far already.
"Are you alright?" I checked on Jimin whom I realized I'm hugging tightly. He looked so startled.
"Jimin, are you okay?!" I repeated but still no answer.
"Jimin...?" His eyes met mine. I was frozen when tears started streaming down his face.
It's pain.
The same pain I saw in him the first time I met him.
"I-It's a... It's a prank!" He forcefully laughed and immediately wiped his tears. "I got you good, right?" Another fake smile.
Author's POV:
Jimin lightly pushed Jungkook trying his best to hide his pain with a smile. "L-let's go! I thought you're hungry." He said.Jungkook just watched him passed by him with an obvious pain clearly painted in his eyes.
He silently followed him until they are walking side by side.
Jungkook kept glancing at him but Jimin was avoiding his gaze.
The atmosphere started to get more heavier.
Jungkook massaged his temples. He couldn'tp stand seeing him like this. "Haaa~" He sighed wanted to break the awkward atmosphere.
"Doesn't the moon look lonely?" He asked out of nowhere. His strides was slower making him almost walking from Jimin's back.
"Huh?" Jimin turned around for him but Jungkook cupped his face squishing his cheeks a little from the back. "Hng... yaah!". Jimin protested. Jungkook couldn't help but giggle with his cuteness "Come on.. just look at it..." He said.
"The moon is lonely... It looks like he's carrying the sky alone..." His voice sounded soft while staring at Jimin's side profile. Jimin stared at the moon but all he see was beauty. "mB-buthm...it'sh just mbeautifulh..." Jimin cooed with his squished cheeks.
"Just like you." Jungkook muttered but Jimin didn't heard it clearly. "Hhng?" He tried to look at Jungkook but the latter squished his cheeks more. He was enjoying its fluffiness. "Ngyaah!" Jimin protested again and Jungkook laughed. "I-I mean.. You're like the moon... You seem lonely..." Jungkook paused, 'and beautiful'. But he kept the compliment by himself.
Jimin looked down knowing Jungkook's word was his reality.
"I feel bad for the moon... He's too busy being lonely he didn't notice the stars." Jungkook uttered staring at Jimin whose beautifully looking at the sky.
Jungkook POV
