Taehyung and Jungkook strolled in the park beside their college, clutching open books in their hand. Taehyung wore a loose black long-sleeved shirt with brown pants and Jungkook sported a white sweatshirt with black shorts up to his knees. They intended to get away from their noisy roommates and study, but neither of them was paying attention to the words on the books. The cool breeze and the cherry blossoms hovering elegantly in the sky and their shoulders slightly brushing against each other made it impossible (especially for Taehyung) to do so.
Taehyung never felt too flustered or awkward around Jungkook, but knowing that he could be his brother-in-law, he occasionally glanced at Jungkook, expecting him to say something or anything about the new learnt news. But, Jungkook was his usual self, giggling and flaunting his cute bunny teeth at which Taehyung couldn't help but stare. Maybe Jackson and Chaeyoung hadn't told him yet. Should he be the one to tell him? That doesn't feel right.
What would he think about him if he knew? Would they not be friends anymore? They were going to be roommates in Namjoon's and Jin's apartment in a few days. Would he be angry for not telling him? Wait, more importantly, wouldn't it be embarrassing? Why did his stupid mouth agree to be his roommate? Would-
Suddenly, Jungkook stopped mid-sentence, glanced sideways at Taehyung and smiled, "What are you thinking about?"
Taehyung realized he was staring blankly at his face. He immediately looked away and felt the blush forming on his cheeks. Before he got redder, he stammered, "N-No, nothing."
Still smiling, Jungkook changed his gaze from Taehyung to the sky. Taehyung resisted the urge to steal a glance of Jungkook's face, which was now literally glowing from the evening sun.
Without looking at him, Jungkook asked, "Then, what was I talking about, huh?"
"I, uh," Taehyung started.
Jungkook directly turned to face Taehyung again, and he almost forgot what he was thinking.
"Okay, maybe I was distracted." He confessed.
Jungkook grinned, "Mm? What was the distraction?"
"Uh, I was wondering.."
"You were wondering?"
"Well, do you know about..?"
Taehyung studied Jungkook's face to detect any sign of realisation or recognition. But Jungkook's huge eyes owlishly blinked back, hinting that he had no idea what Taehyung was talking about.
Taehyung ran a tongue over his lips and sighed. "So, you don't."
Jungkook furrowed his brows and tilted his head. He thrust his lower lip which made Taehyung's cheeks turn into another shade of red. "What are you talking about?"
Taehyung shook his head. "Nevermind. You'll get to know later anyway."
Jungkook's brows furrowed even more as he confusedly studied his face, but he refused to urge him on, noticing the weird shade he was turning into. He pursed his lips and averted his attention from Taehyung back to the sky again, but he pondered what Taehyung was referring to.
Not finding any theories, Jungkook shrugged it off and brought up a new subject to make Taehyung smile and release the awkward tension off his shoulders.
Hopefully, it was nothing to be worried about.
"I'm going home tomorrow for the weekend." Jungkook smiled.
Taehyung's smile faltered a bit. "I'm sorry, what?"
Jungkook's repeated, "I'm going home tomorrow, you know? Get my mind off stress and college. And obviously, because I miss appa and omma."
