The truth behind 'Ready For Love' - BLACKPINK's unreleased song
After the release of the first documentary made by a kpop group with Netflix, Blinks went crazy over the hidden truths about the girl group.
One of the things that caught fans' attention the most was the truth behind an unreleased song that, according with YG, did not fit the concept of THE ALBUM, BLACKPINK's first full album.
The song goes by the name of Ready For Love and Teddy spoke about the production of the song, including interesting facts about the group's maknae, Yuri.
Teddy stated:
'Ready For Love showcased more of a feminine side of the girls, Yuri also was happy when she presented me the lyrics the first time.
She was really excited while talking about the song and I decided to help her and make it perfect, as she asked.
This song, compared to the other songs, is not an older song, Yuri talked to me about it for the first time about six months ago. The album was already ready and the song didn't set well with the concept.
I even asked her if she wanted to make it a solo song, like a special release, but she said she wanted to perform it with her family, the other girls.
I always saw a special potential in her, even before debut she worked on most of the lyrics from Crazy Over You. The parts she wrote are the only ones who weren't altered.
You Never Know also almost didn't make into the album. She proposed a few changes in the lyrics a few months before the release.
On my side I wasn't sure, the company also wasn't convinced about the changes she proposed, but I let her work it out with the other lyricists and they changed it.
I have to say I'm really proud, especially because she has put her hands on all her parts in the songs, she always found a way to make them better, more pleasurable while listening to it.
Normally, producers wouldn't be happy when an artist touches the song and wants to make it different, but I think, at some point, I even starts to wait for Yuri to show first and tell me if she wanted to change something about it.'
