A/N
So I promised to publish this yesterday but I kinda felt as if something was missing, so I added to the starting 3.3k words.
Now, this is gonna be long as it's over 3.8k words, so grab a snack and something to drink. And sorry for all the typos you'll find.
Hope you enjoy it.

Yuri and Jaemin's story
From the beginning till their break up

"You gave me one year of your life and I can't say I'm not thankful for it. Thank you, for making me who I am today. Thank you, for making me a better person, a better version of me. And for what's still worth, I'm sorry."

She knew she wasn't meant to have a relationship.

She didn't have the freedom nor could afford it, her dream - or what everyone called so - was her priority. Sooner or later her mother would call her anyway to tell her to focus on being successful, love can wait.

However she fell hard for him.

Choi Hyunsuk wasn't supposed to be more than a flirt. Kind of an experiment, to at least know what it meant to want to have someone next to you all the time. But it turned out harder than she expected.

After seeing how much he held onto his dream, she knew it wasn't her place. But she couldn't blame anyone expect herself. She already knew what she was allowed to do and she knew what she was not allowed to do.

So she couldn't blame anyone expert her selfishness when she broke his heart. What she refused to knowledge was the fact that her heart was aching too, but she wasn't allowed to say it. She had to watch him hurt and move on, that's what everyone expected her to do and she couldn't let them down.

Her first public relationship wasn't even a real relationship. Indeed she liked Eunwoo and spend time with him, but it wasn't love.

She moved on and then he came.

He was full of happiness, the kind someone like Yuri would never imagined could even exist. After all the things she went through aside her broken first love, she just wasn't sure she could be so happy. But he did it. What she longed for for so long, he gave it to her. And she wanted it to be real.

But maybe their love wasn't strong enough and it lead to their break up, but Yuri was different now. His love was still strong enough to change her. But was love enough?

'You promised the world and I fell for it'

[September 2020]

Yuri wasn't sure if she did the right thing to accept to go on this date. Jaehyun suggested it at first and she knew she shouldn't take as granted whatever her best friend would say, but she just accepted because he seemed genuine while talking about his fellow bandmate - Jaemin.

Now they were walking awkwardly by the Han river, it was extremely late, but it was for the best since there were less people outside so late, not to mention autumn started, so people would try to get home as fast as possible before it gets too cold.

She was looking down at the grass she was stepping on, careful to not make any sound.

"This has been one of the most awkward moments of my life." He said, laughing lightly. "I-I know it's not perfect, probably not even close to how a date is supposed to look, but it's just that I-I..." They stopped walking and she hesitated to look up at first. "I liked you for a long time and I'm not sure how to act, I don't want to look weird or something. Really, I shouldn't have insisted with Jaehyun hyung for this-"
