"Are you sure?"
Aro asks Kyra unnecessarily. The ginger haired girl nodding in reply.

It's been two days since she talked to Didyme; two days since any of them saw both Marcus and his Mate and two days since her mind is clouded by the most confusion questions she ever had to ask herself.
But it's also been two days since Aro decided to send the Elite guard to Seattle about their little vampire problem and Kyra simply decided to tag along – nothing that surprised any of them.

Demetri's vampire is still a little stressed up about her comatose like state and he himself is quite worried it will happen again.
Aro has already seen in Kyra's thoughts that she were to come to escape her own mind for a second and Caius just shrugged; already knowing that Demetri wouldn't let his Mate stay without a fight.
And Jane and Alec simply made a bet about how long it would take to get the master to agree with letting her come and about who would ask them. Alec won the first and Jane the second bet.

"Then be careful."
Aro tells her with a nod of his own.

"I will."
Kyra smiles at him.

The flight to America is quite uneventful; Kyra would lay with her back against Demetri's chest with him playing some stupid games on their X-Box the master had to install there. Felix plays with him and at some point Alec joins them as well. Meanwhile Jane lays with her head in Kyra's lap as the ginger plays with the long blonde hair; braiding it, untangling it and braiding it again as Jane skips through Pinterest. The two of them talking about some of the pictures; though, Demetri would growl warningly whenever they'd talk about an attractive boy or girl.

As the pilot informs them that they're landing in a few minutes, the boys turn off the X-Box while the girls just keep talking to each other; letting the men do the work.

"Are you ready or are we supposed to carry the Ladies outside?"
Alec jokes sarcastically; regretting it as soon as a smirk forms on both their faces.

"Are you sure you're strong enough for that?"
Jane sasses back.

"I bet you wouldn't reach the steps before collapsing because you're too weak to carry the both of us."
Kyra joins in seeing Felix shake his head at Alec in he corner of her eyes.

Demetri watches them for a second before shaking his head as well; both of them knowing what's about to come.

"We'll see about that."
Alec bites back before speeding over to the girls; throwing them over each of his shoulders.

The two girls grin at each other in satisfaction as they let him carry them towards their destiny, where they'll be able to watch the vampires before deciding what to do with them.

Putting them down, Alec has a proud look adorning his features until a frown replaces this expression.

"What did we bet about?"
he asks them; the girl's smirks widen at that.

"This."
Jane comments as she slaps the back of his head harshly.

"Wha...? Hey!"
Alec exclaims before turning in the ginger's direction. Said newborn now leaning against Demetri's chest concentrating on his smell rather than that of the humans that are currently getting slaughtered just a few metres away.

"Kyra, she hit me."
he pouts in her direction.

"Guys, behave. Or I will ground you both."
Kyra replies with one of her favourite quotes from Jennifer Jareau.

"You think you can do this without us?"
Demetri asks his friends after watching the newborns for a while.

Kyra got more uncomfortable by the second and at some point, she stopped breathing completely; her body turning in his arms to burry her head in his chest just in case.

"Go."
Felix nods and Demetri takes Kyra's hand in his; the two of them speeding into the woods almost immediately.

Leading her towards two women that seem to be tourists, Demetri stops in front of her; his hand going to rest on her shoulder.

"Breath."
he instructs gently; her eyes meeting his as she follows his order; the sweet scent of their blood getting their attention as soon as that.

"It's alright. Only for a minute."
he whispers softly; his arms pulling her into his chest – her eyes now fixed on them as they walk- through the wood obvious to the danger lingering closer to them as they may think.

Demetri counts to sixty in his head; his arms holding her in place as she tries to break free.

If he was anyone other than her mate, he could swear she would have ripped him apart by now and yet her instincts seem to forbid her to attack him.

"Go."
he lets go of her; watching for a second as she speeds towards them.

Her teeth pierce into the skin of one of those as she completely ignores the other one's screams. Demetri supresses a smirk and speeds over to the other one, drowning her quickly; though, not quickly enough as Kyra bites in the other side of the girls neck – the two of them fighting for the last drops of blood.

Letting the girl drop to the ground, Demetri looks up to his Mate, his thumb flying to the side of her mouth almost like a reflex as he goes to wipe the blood off her face. Her bright red eyes watching his every move until something in her flips and she pushes Demetri to the ground with her climbing on top of him. Kyra's red hair falls over her shoulder and next to his head as she leans down; their lips inches apart as his hands go to rest on her hips.

The moment seems to go on forever until Demetri breaks it by leaning up to let their lips meet in a kiss.

"I love you."
she mumbles as she breaks the kiss; his hand reaching up to stroke her hair behind her ear.

"I love you, too, mia cara."
he smiles back; a big grin coming upon her face as she leans down to connect their lips once again.
