"Are you okay?" Ronan asked when Lucas, Ben and Jacob had disappeared. I had felt so much pain and anger when he mentioned Bella. I had felt so empty like I was in the backseat of my own body and I had switched to autopilot.
"Yeah," I told my cousin, numbly. I lifted myself out of the chair, not slipping out like before.
"We'll have to get that wall repaired," My aunt commented, looking at the hole in the wall. I wanted to say sorry but I wasn't sorry. I was only sorry that I missed Lucas's face.
Aunt Jodie was 47 and very energetic. Right now, her grey eyes were fixed onto the hole I made in the wall and her blonde bob was perfect as always. She was dressed in her nurse's uniform. She'd obviously come in the middle of her shift.
She turned towards me and smiled.
"Come on. You have the option of rooms. There were no free. You have to share. You can either share with Ronan's Charlie or Sophia. Sophia is a boisterous, loud and blunt. Most girls don't like her attitude. Ronan's Charlotte is much more gentle and caring. It'll be a better way of knowing her."Aunt Jodie told me. Sophia sounded better than Ronan's Charlotte. The way Aunt Jodie said it, sickened me. Charlotte wasn't an object, she was a person unless she like the possessive type.
"I'll share with Sophia. She sounds a lot like me. We'll be a good match and I'm sure I can meet with Charlotte another day." I told Aunt Jodie. I didn't really want to meet Charlotte. She sounded more like the girl that Bella hung out with. Sophia sounded a lot like me and I needed someone blunt. I also needed a friend.
Ronan looked crestfallen. I guess he wanted me to develop a bond with his girlfriend. Well, tough luck. I had more important things to do.
"I'll take you to Sophia's room. Do you have any formal clothes? Like ball gowns ?" Aunt Jodie asked as Ronan walked off, probably to Charlotte. I shook my head.
"I left them at home. I didn't think I would need them here." I told my Aunt. My father hosted slot of balls and me and Bella had to attend them. It was rare to have a ball at a school on a remote island.
Aunt Jodie looked uncomfortable but gave me a forced smile. I wanted to comfort her but thought better of it.
"I'm sure Sophia or Charlotte could lend you some," she told me. I nodded. I was already bored of Charlotte.
Aunt Jodie led me up the grand staircase and we went up the right stairs to the right corridor. Then we went up a little passageway with some stairs.
"Year 13 has the top floor. The fifth floor, to themselves." She told me as we climbed 4 more stair cases. When we reached the top, I was breathless. As I was a tuner, I didn't get breathless a lot. Those stairs were a real beast
We turned left and walked along the corridors.
"Charlotte is in room 501," Aunt Jodie told me. I resisted rolling my eyes. I really didn't want to meet Charlotte. She sounded like the daughter my aunt never had.
Most doors had pictures on them, including Charlotte's, but we stopped in-front of a door with roses on. Room 511.
Aunt Jodie knocked, gulping. Why would Ant Jodie gulp? It was all very strange.
The door opened to a reveal an African girl. Her chocolate, straight hair was pulled into a ponytail. Her sea green eyes widened in surprise. She started smiling.
"Good Afternoon, Nurse Axton." Sophia greeted Aunt Jodie. Sophia looked at me and smiled." Blair, right? Are you rooming with me?" She asked me. I nodded and she smiled more."Thank you so much! I don't get many friends. Because of bluntness." Sophia told me, glaring at my aunt. I stifled a laugh. I liked Sophia.
