I sighed as Uncle Julian came into his office.

Ronan has got to get him a few minutes ago. I was trying to stay optimistic but it was hard. It was really, really hard. After Jordan's horror stories, I was really freaked out.

"What's the problem, Blair? Ronan said you needed my urgently," My uncle said, sitting down on his chair.

Ronan left the room and sneered at us. I felt like knocking him off his high horse.

"Well, I was bitten by a wolf yesterday. A wolf that goes to this school and-" I started.

My uncle slammed his hands of the table, standing up. He was furious.

"Who the hell bit you!? What do you mean a wolf that goes to this school?!" He shouted. Sophia and Jacob cringed.

I glared at my uncle. This whole 'keep the shifters a secret' was getting tired.

"I saw some people shift into wolves and I can't tell you who but me," I told my uncle awkwardly. He looked taken aback.

He then shifted his gaze to Lucas. Lucas was looking at the floor and avoiding eye contact.

"You did this to her! You don't know what the hell you've done!" My uncle roared. His eyes changed yellow as he approached Lucas. I stood up and stood in front of Lucas.

"Don't touch him!" I snarled. I could see my hair turning a silvery blonde. That seemed to be my sign that something was going to happen.

I felt pain in my head and looked at the mirror my uncle kept in his office. My hair was a silvery blonde, any traces of its normal black were gone. I still had my waves and it was still elbow length. My eyes were half sea green and half black. I looked horrifying.

"Oh my god! This....this can't happen. It's not....not....no....I'm sorry," My uncle said, sitting in the nearest chair. He looked genuinely scared.

I didn't know what to do.

I felt a hand clutch my own. I recognised the warmth of the hand.

"Blair. Blair, look at me," Lucas said, softly. I turned round and looked at him. His eyes were like sapphires once again.

"Calm down. Come back to us," he said.

I tried to. I mentally thought of it but nothing happened. My hair stayed silvery blonde and my eyes were still half sea green and half ebony.

"I can't, Lucas. I can't," I told him, my voice cracking. Something told me to stay strong and not be weak.

"You need to find the book," my uncle mumbled. I looked at him. Head in hands, pale skin.

"What book?" Lucas asked. He was still holding my hand and I used that as an anchor.

"The book on humans and shifters. It holds all the answers." He answered.

It looked like we might be closer to figuring out what was wrong.
