I woke up the next morning and did my normal routine. Brush teeth. Get dressed. Do my hair.
I scowled when I saw the bite mark. It wasn't a bad dream. Lucas had bitten me.
I wanted to be mad at him but I was strangely still thinking of him as my knight in shining armour. I tried thinking of Ollie but I switched back to Lucas.
"Hey!" Sophia said, softly. She sat on the bed, skittish. She had snuck back in about 3 hours later and we'd talked about her time with Ben. She had started blushing like crazy. It turned out that Ben had set up a little midnight picnic. I thought that was super sweet and Sophia had had the time of her life.
"Hey. Come with me to breakfast?" I asked her. She nodded, smiling. I didn't want her feeling weird after I'd learnt about shifters. I was going to talk about it more at breakfast.
"Sorry about last night." Sophia told me. I rolled my eyes and looked at her.
She was still hung up about it and I was a still trying to comfort her. It was time to give her some tough love.
"I don't want to be kept in the dark." I told her. She nodded and we walked towards the breakfast hall.
"Blair! How are you?" Ollie shouted as me and Sophia entered the dinning hall. I smiled at him as Sophia tensed next to me.
I'd learnt that Sophia, Ben, Jacob and Lucas didn't trust Ollie. They didn't tell my the specifics but I knew it went back to when they started at Métamorphe academy.
"I'm good. Hungry." I admitted. Actually, this was ridiculous. I was craving food. I left Ollie to go to his table.
I walked over to the buffet and filled my plate with sausages and bacon. I sat down with Sophia and she started laughing. I could see a bit of fear in her sky blue eyes but It was gone so quickly that I must have imagined it.
"What? I had an eventful night. I need food." I told her. She raised her eyebrow as Lucas, Jacob and Ben walked in. Lucas went to sulk in the corner but Jacob and Ben dragged him over here. They sat down and Lucas looked anywhere but me.
"Hey, Wolves." I greeted them. Jacob and Ben flashed their eyes at me. I snarled at them. They averted their eyes and ate their food. Jeez, that was.....unexpected.
"Uh...sorry. I don't know what came over me," I told them, chuckling nervously. The snarl hadn't been completely human. There was a small bit of animal in there. I gulped and dug back into my food.
"Are you okay?" Sophia asked me. Lucas,Jacob and Ben looked at me, awaiting my answer. I looked at Lucas and he adverted his gaze again. I sighed and smiled at my friend. It was forced.
"Yeah." I told her. I don't think I was though. Not truly. Something wasn't right. I felt a ball of fire in my stomach. My head also hurt.
"Sure?" She asked again. The ball got larger as all of Sophia's worrying came back to me. I was fed up of it. A side of me that wanted to back off took control, pushing my level headedness into the backseat.
I got up so quickly that my chair flew to the other side of the room. I could sense 130 heads swivel my way.
I slammed my fist on the table, startling the whole table except from Lucas. He just looked at me like a predator stalking his prey.
"Just back off! I'm fed up of you worrying! I'm ok with what I saw! I've come to terms with it. It's obvious that you haven't! So back off or challenge me. Oh, I forgot, you're too submissive to challenge me!"I shouted at her. The words echoed around the room. Snickers echoed around as Sophia shrunk back in her seat.
