I looked at the bite mark. I'd just given Blair a bite mark. Me. Like an animal.

I sat in the back seat as my wolf took control. He licked the bite mark as Blair's knees buckled. Sophia tried to catch her but was too slow.

Blair hit the ground and her eyes closed. My wolf walked over to her head and nudged her hand with his head.

Damnitt!

I grabbed the reins and changed. I screamed as the bones broke and reformed.

"What do I do?" I asked no one in particular. Ben handed me my clothes and I slipped my jeans and t shirt on. I couldn't be bothered to be my trainers on. Everyone else shifted and got changed.

I went over to Blair and put her head in my lap, stroking her hair.

"Lucas, you know what this means, right? A bite could mean loads of things. You could scar her and Blair doesn't need another one of them," Sophia commented, pointing at Blair's scar. I wanted to growl at Sophia. Blair's scar showed her courage and strength. During the first 6 months after my sister's deaths, I didn't have the strength to face each day as it came. Blair could though and for that, I respected her.

"No," I replied, softly. Growing up with a father as an alpha, I didn't feel the need to study shifter and human interactions. I was going to be alpha someday and we didn't encounter humans a lot.

I knew that Sophia was educated in that topic because of her families' pack's reputation. They lived in a village of shifters but a few humans lived there and in the surrounding villages.

"She could either be one of us or one side could dominate the other and she could tear herself apart. It happened to my aunt. It could be different because of Blair's age. It can vary. I'll look it up in the library tomorrow." Sophia said, stroking her best friend's hair.

"God Damnitt!!" Jacob shouted. Sophia pulled away, startled.

I was shocked. Jacob was normally funny and playful, this was obviously a whole new angle.

"I'm so sorry," I told them. Jacob just punched the nearest tree. The wood cracked as his fist went through one side and out the other. The tree swayed before falling backwards.

"You've done some stupid things in your life but this is ridiculous!" He shouted.

"I'm sorry," I repeated. I agreed with Jacob. I sensed my wolf pacing inside my head. He felt quite smug.

"Sorry doesn't cut it, Lucas! You could be a murderer! What the hell will we tell her uncle? Her father? Ronan?" He asked, throwing his arms up." How should we say she died? Her father probably doesn't know about shifters! Her uncle would skin us if he knew we were responsible and Ronan can sniff this stuff out!" Jacob shouted.

I ran a hand through my hair. I could potentially kill this girl. This girl with so much potential and intelligence. This girl who made me hate her but I rushed to her side whenever she needed me.

I looked down as her eyelids cluttered open.

She sat up, clutching her head.

"W-What happened?" She asked. She must have remembered something because she snorted." I had this crazy dream. You guys changed into animals and then Lucas' wolf bit......." She trailed off as she saw the scares on her right forearm. The scar was pink and shiny now. The bite mark was straight and 2cm below the rest of the arms skin. It replicated the size of my wolf's jaws.

Her body tensed up as she went into 'fight or flight' mode. Her pupils dilated , her heart race increased, her eyelids lifting higher and I could smell the adrenaline pumping through her veins.

She was scared. She was scared of her 'dream'.

"Blair," I said, touching her arm. She flinched and got to her feet. Her heart started beating faster, the adrenaline pumping faster. Her breathing was fast and shallow.

She was afraid of me. My heart ached with sadness. I was prepared for her to hate me but she was afraid of me.

"D-don't touch me!" She stammered out, stepping away from us. Sophia reached for her but Blair jumped back."Get the hell away from me!" She screamed. Sophia flinched and Ben pulled her in for a hug.

"Blair....we're sorry. We just-" Jacob told her, approaching her. She snarled. It was very human and it Jacob's wolf would see it as a challenge that he could win.

"You lied to me! All of you! I was hurting and you all lied! What did you want from me? You obviously didn't want my friendship because friends don't lie!" She shouted. Every word chipped away at my heart. Jacob's eyes flashed wolf and she stepped back. Tears were streaming down her face and I wanted to wipe them away.

"We didn't tell you because we are sworn to keep our species a secret. It was either not tell your or be shot by a firing squad." I told her. She contemplated it and finally understood it because she frowned.

"Really?" She asked, much like a small child. I nodded, approaching her slowly like a wild animal. It was ironic because she wasn't the animal, I was.

"Really. The shifter royal family are very secretive. They were scared about humans reactions to us. Think of your own reaction," I reminded her. She nodded and I took another step forward.

"Oh ok. I suppose that's all right but you have to make it up to me somehow," she negotiated. Jacob groaned. He hated owing people.

"Ok. What would you like?" I asked her, stepping forward so that I was 1m away from her. She smiled.

"I want to attend shifter classes. Take me along." She compromised. Jacob's mouth hung open.

"What? But you can-" he started, stumbling over the words.

"Deal!" I answered, interrupting him. He glared at me but caved in anyway.

"Where are Ben and Sophia?" Blair asked. I looked around and ,sure enough, they were no in sight.

"Wandered off. Sophia was pretty upset. They did start kissing though. It was pretty intense." He told us. I scowled at Ben's antics. Blair just laughed.

"She totally took my advice!" She answered, chuckling. I frowned.

"What advice?" Jacob asked for me.

"That she needed to grab the bull by the horns and take control of the situation," she answered, mischievously. Jacob started laughing and I just smiled. A bit.

"We'll talk more in the morning. G'night," I dismissed, walking away.

Blair came beside me and smiled.

"I hate you for biting me but thanks for being my knight in shining armour, for the last few days." She answered, handing me a piece of paper. She then ran off, smiling to herself.

I frowned at the piece of the paper. It read:

To: Lucas James North

'Kendal green cemetery, Harrow rd, Kensal Green, London W10 4RA.

Go to this address and you will find the graves of 'Maeve Daisy North' and 'Rhea Evelyn North'.

I hope you find peace, Lucas.

-Blair

I laughed at how she'd put my name.

I nearly dropped to my knees as I read it.

As we hadn't recovered the bodies, my family hadn't dug a grave for my sisters. Now we could. I could find peace.

Tears leaked from eyes.

Blair Axton. She truly was a godsend.
