"I can't do it anymore." I told Jacob, in the clearing. I wished those two words could say anything. Take away the pain.
"For what?" He asked.
He stood up, running a hand through his blonde curls." Why did you do it, Blair? He's been distant and showed you no affection and now you're all cosy.I don't understand."
His voice was heart breaking. I never thought that I'd cause a guy to cry but I was wrong.
"First off, I'm Ryann now. Not Blair and me and Lucas are not cosy. I was hurting and he comforted me, that's all it is," I told him. It was all the truth.
"There is more and you know it.You see, every shifter has a true mate and I met a seer. She told me that my mate would come in a time of great need. I thought that was you but...it isn't." He said, sighing.
True mate!? I'd heard of this before but I didn't know that Jacob knew who his was. Well, I guess he didn't but.... let's just skip the details.
"I forgive you, Ryann. Now, let's go before." Jacob added.
It was nice to have friends like this. Friends who would never be constantly angry at you.
"Chill, guys!" Sophia shouted as me and Jacob climbed up the ladder to the tree house.
When we reached the top, Lucas looked me over.
You good?He asked.
Were you scared? I asked him. He shook his head.
I thought you were crying somewhere. I know you. He reminded me.
True.
"So, what'd you talk about?" Sophia asked. Ben was grinning like mad and Lucas was waiting.
I made my way over to the rug before answering.
"How me and Jacob's live life is now null and void." I explained. I looked at Lucas for a reaction but got nothing.
"Isn't that good news! Now you can date other people." Sophia said, clapping her hands together like a child who found out that she was having a birthday party.
"Well, I might not be able to resist kissing Ryann, once in a while." Jacob said, kissing me on the cheek.
Sophia and Ben were laughing, hysterically and Jacob was smirking, smugly. I hit Jacob on the arm.
"Behave," I told him. He gave me a chaste kiss on the lips as a response.
"Let's shift. My wolf's restless." I told Jacob and Lucas. They both nodded and we descended the ladder.
"Ready?" I asked. Everyone nodded and that's when the pain started. I screamed like Sophia.

Ryann screamed. Her eyes turned an orangey-yellow. She started bleeding and rapidly, light beige fur covered her body. Her legs and arms shortened, claws coming out. She tipped back her head as it become wider and longer.
The white growled at the fox and wolves around her. She bumped heads with her alpha. He nuzzled her and they turned to the rest of the pack.
She ran off into the woods, her big paws making the ground vibrate. The rest of her 'pack' followed.
She ran with the fox and played out by the sea. The sea seemed black in the moonlight. The water was cold and salty.
The white wolf relished the feeling. It had been so long. Her alpha ran over to her, putting his head on top of hers. She purred, content.
That's when she ran off. She could smell something. She heard her alpha's footsteps but he stopped. She didn't stop. She followed the smell.
Finally, she stopped and looked at the steak. She needed it. The white wolf bounded over to the steak, confused when a cage popped up over her.
She heard a gunshot and felt woozy as she felt a prick in her side. She started to black out. Only to hear a familiar voice say:
"Good girl."
