A/n: Do I ship BuckyNat? No, no I do not. Are they in this imagine regardless? Yes, yes they are. Deal with it.

It wasn't your fault the perfectly good plan went awry. Okay, in hindsight it probably wasn't such a great plan, and, seeing as you were the only one in on it, it probably was your fault.
But still, there were outside factors to consider, right?
Those outside factors, the ones on which you blamed your current situation, had led you to being here, in this chair.
But yeah, it was a dumb plan. You see, you were: A. Mad that neither of your dads would let you go on missions, when you were just as well trained as a lot of agents—maybe even better. Plus, you had the super soldier serum (your dads had hired a surrogate to carry you and used Steve's sperm for artificial insemination) so you could hold your own pretty well. B.? You were also sure that they couldn't take down Hydra—at least, not well—without anyone on the inside.
By inside, you meant a simple and quick infil, intel collection, exfil mission. In reality, the mission was neither simple nor quick.
Sure, you had trained under a Red Room graduate and were half super soldier, but that was no match for a ton of well trained Hydra agents.
The plan had, for the most part, worked. You 'ran away' and were 'unintentionally' found by hydra, captured, and subdued. Phase one? Worked like a charm. Phase two was where things went awry.
It had been over seven months since you first tried. In that time period, you had been tortured and trained, forced to go in missions and kill. You had tried to play off yourself as anti-Avengers, having 'run away', but your facade, though well played, wasn't convincing enough. So they had decided that, either because they didn't trust you or thought you wouldn't kill the avengers no matter how against them you were—or both, probably both—they needed to... encourage you, to put it nicely.
So, your memory was wiped and you were brainwashed. It was only then, after the trigger words were proven to work and you had no recollection of your past life, that they sent you on your first real, not-test mission.

"So, the plan is to-" a sudden crash interrupted Steve. "J.A.R.V.I.S., what was that?"
The AI didn't have a chance to respond before you shut it down from the lab. You expected them to come here first, so you set a small trap—not a fatal one, not yet—and climbed into the vents.
That was when you met Clint. You hadn't expected him to be in the vents, and he hadn't expected you to be coming towards him.
"Shit." You cursed under your breath. Neither of you had a real way to fight in such a confined space, so you just had a small stand-off. Eventually, bored, you grabbed the archer's walkie-talkie. Grabbing your voice changer, you called into it, "Hello, avengers. My good friend here, what's his name, Clint? Anyways, I've got him here, come and get him." Before Clint could say anything, you smashed the walkie-talkie.
You smiled wickedly as a plan came to mind. You remembered viewing plans for the inside of the tower.
You pressed forward as Clint cocked his head, confused as to your plan. It became clear when you began pushing him back. He slid along the interior of the vent, trying to stand his ground but unable to fight back.
