I was lying in my bed writing a fire message to Baron when Mari came."You're still here?"I sighed."Yes I'm here."I told Baron that she came and sent it."What do you want?""I want them to know how useless you are."I chuckled."I know it.You know it.Then why do you care if they know?They'll figure out eventually."I sighed."Stop spending every bit of free time you have to annoy me or expose me when you could go take some time for yourself.Like...take a shower."Then I left the room and went into the common area."I thought you weren't coming.""But I ain't staying if she is there."They understood and squeezed me between them."This was unnecessary."They shook their heads.

Then a group of boys came in with messed up faces."James?Kendrick?"I went over."What happened?"James sighed with a bloody face."They provoked me and well...they didn't let me go down on my own.Even Ralph dived in."I sighed and looked through the crowd of messed up faces."You all need to go to the hospital wing.""I said that but no!They had to come back here."Why didn't they listen Kendrick?

"TOO BAD!TURN AROUND BOYS!"Kendrick helped me and we got them to the hospital wing.Nurses were freaked out when they saw them."This is the second group today!"Then we saw the other side of the fight and well...they did them good.I turned aroudn but Ralph wasn't here so I stopped one of the nurses."Ralph Fern?Where is he?"She sighed."You might want to sit down sweetie."I shook my head."Tell me."She pulled me to a further corner."We came across more things than we could heal.We sent him to a hospital."I chuckled."I knew it.I knew he lied to me.I should've known better."I turned back to the nurse."Thank you."

I somehow found a way to sneak out that night.Pure luck though.Maybe I shouldn't.This is all too easy.I turned back around and went back to the tower.I went to the hospital wing."Is everything alright honey?Are you hurt?"I sighed."No.But I need to ask you a question."She nodded and sit down."Keep it low though.There are students spending the night here."I nodded."Is there any way I could comunicate with someone from afar?Like...talk to them."

"Fifth year communication class.I don't know how.But they would."I sighed."What would it do to the other person...if they're hurt?"She understood."There are some risks.But if you can practice is on someone and master it and see that it works...all could be good."I nodded."Thank you."I left and I came across the headmaster."Ms.Monroe?What are you doing at this time of night?Lurking around the school?"I sighed."Nothing.I had a question that I just couldn't get ot of my mind so I asked it to one of the nurses."

"Hmm...Very well.Go back to your room please."I nodded and left.When I came back I took the book the nurse mentioned and tried to reach Alex.It requires something of them.Uh...letters.That should work."Psst.Alex?It's me Rose.If you can hear me just send me something."Then I waited and he sent a me a letter saying 'shut the fuck up I'm sleeping' it works.Good.What do I have of Ralph's.Just when I was thinking I should break in to the boys' bedroom I saw the bracelet he gave me.It's still his.I chant the spell and then started talking."I knew I couldn't send you a fire message or a letter but...sneaking out seemed way too easy.Like your father planned all of this.So I had to find another way.You lied though.You weren't fine.But you lied.You were nowhere near fine.But I won't be responsible the next time you lie to me Fern.I won't."

Then I let go of the bracelet and broke the connection.Then I got a fire message."I'm fine enough to send you a fire message."That made me feel slightly better.

Following few days were normal.I would go to my classes and do what every student was doing.I was a third year on emotion control just how I was when I was a first year and saw second year emotion control.And exactly a week later from the last event Ralph came back.Crooks never left his side and his eyes never left my direction.A few more weeks went by and I did everything I could so we wouldn't be in the same room other than class and meal times.

Next thing I know I'm getting a Christmas card from Baron asking me if I want to come.I said yes of course."Why are you all happy and jolly?"I chuckled and showed him Baron's letter."I'm going to Paris for Christmas."He read the letter."I didn't know he was French."I laughed."He's not.They're going there for Christmas."He gave me back the letter."Steal a Fench boy's heart?"I chuckled."I promise.If I see someone that I find attractive...you'll be the first one to know.Then Silver.Because she told me about her summer fling."He chuckled."When are you leaving?"

"Tonight.I already returned my homework and I will get my books regardless.So who cares if I miss a few days?"He chuckled."I do.But...go ahead.It's been months since the last time you saw your brother."I laughed."Are you seriously jealous of Baron right now?"He rolled his eyes."Hell no.Go to hell.What the-No I'm not!"I chuckled."You sure aren't buddy.I'm going to go send a couple letters."I went up to the club tower and got to my room.I was listing people to send a letter to and once I was done I got to the common area desk and started writing.

Students came and go.They didn't mind me and I didn't mind them.Then Ralph came."Are you avoiding me?"I tilted my head up to look at him."Are you just figuring it out or you knew it for a while?Because the answer will be different for those questions."He rolled his eyes."You're unbelievable."I chuckled."Unbelievably perfect?Yeah I know hun."Putting on a happy face is easy.It's the keeping it on part that's hard."Who's lying now?"Then he left.But before he got far I spoke up."You know exactly what's going on.Why would ask me in the first place?All I want is not to die by the hands of your father.Or your mom.I don't know.You guys are twisted."He kept walking away after that and I got back to my letters.

Alex was bummed out about it but I promised that I would spend the winter holiday with him and his grandparents along with mine just like last year.I wanted to write to mom.I-I don't know why but...she's my mom.Dad had put me through hell but she picked up the pieces.But...I started from the begining.Asking how she is.If she doesn't reply then...I guess I lost them forever.
