After the funeral Ralph wanted to bail because he knew none of them knew her the way he did and still said that they were as sorry as he was.And I know how it feels.That's why I hate wakes.Remi's wake was...horrible.People looking at me like I'm crazy.But I just stared at the spot where me and Remi used to sit.That spot on the couch was our spot.We were upstairs in his bedroom while his grandparents were downstairs at the wake when we heard shocked voices getting louder and louder by second."I'm gonna go look.""No don't leave."I kissed his forehead."If in two minutes I'm not back then I will never leave your side for two weeks.Ok?"He pulled me back on his bed."Don't ever leave my side."A couple tears went down then I left.When I got down I couldn't believe my eyes."Dad?Wha-What are you doing here?"He came over and hugged me.I pushed him away.Even it felt unbelievably great to hug him again.
"I-I heard that Ralph's mom died and I-I thought you might need me."I sighed."You were never there when I actually needed you.And right now?All I need is to go back to the person who actually needs me.""O-Ok."He first backed away then walked out.I went back upstairs to get back at Ralph."What was it?"I sighed."I'll tell you later.Now is not the time."I got on his bed and laid down next to him."Are you sure?"I looked down at the Ralph who was resting his head on my chest."I-I'm sure.It's not the time.But I will tell you one day just...not today."He nodded and we went to sleep.Damn this was unexpected.My dad showing up at his future son in law's mom's wake.I don't know what I was thinking anymore.
Weeks went by and it was time for the annual graduate ball.Ralph knew how much I loved this and listed the names himself.There is James and Mel.And a friend of their's.His name is Graham.He's in our club.I know him from the team.So I went up to Ralph in his room."I decided it's best if I go with Graham.The others are Dolphtails mostly so...I don't have a reason.I give up.I just know Graham in that list."He laughed."I'm waiting for my year.I wonder if I could attend your graduate ball."I rolled my eyes."If you don't I'm chopping your head."He nodded."Noted."Then Graham entered the room and it felt wrong."Why aren't you going up to him?"I sighed."It's wrong.When I was with Peter and I went to the graduate ball with Kendrick it felt right.Like it was the right thing to do.But now?I feel awful for betraying you adn I didn't even do anything yet."He and I hugged."It's because you didn't love Peter.Not the way you love me at least."
I broke the hug."Exactly."He gave me a kiss on the forehead."We can always gatecrash if you want.We can blend in without notice."I sighed."I'm a lucky girl.I'll go dress up.Wear that black satin suit that fits you perfectly.I like that one.You always look sharp in it."I kissed him and left.

"You look amazing."I turned around."Thank you.You don't look too bad yourself."He offered me his arm and we went.We sneaked form behind and then found James and Mel."How are you two here?"I looked at Ralph before I answered."A genius friend of mine suggested that we gatecrash.So here we are."James shook Ralph's hand."Hi genius friend."Ralph rolled his eyes.
It was time to dance.We got up on the dance floor.And danced.We had practice.Everytime we were bored or not feeling it we would just dance.Unless we were not alone.Then we would just sit and read.But we were alone most of the time.We were dancing and it was great."How do you think my family will take it?"He was confused."Take what?"I sighed."Our engagement?Me being your wife?You being my husband?You and Alex actually becoming a family that I am very curious to see?Do I need to go on?"He chuckled."That...well my grandparents already know since they were the ones who insisted that I proposed with my family ring."Hold the fucking door.What?!

I turned to Ralph."He's right.I prank him a lot."Then I got back at my grandfather."No I'm not pregnant.And no I wasn't pranking you.I actually love him.Besides he's been myy rock from the start.I was there at the funeral by his side.You two saw me."Grandma walked up to me and placed her hands on my shoulders."But you're too good for this world.We thought you were being nice."I rolled my eyes.
"Well...I wasn't pranking or being nice.So...what do you guys think?"Our grandparents made eye contact and yelled in unison."WE THINK IT'S WONDERFUL!"
