After lunch, John decided to take me somewhere else that was a surprise.
"But I don't like surprises," I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest after buckling up.
"Oh well," he giggled at my little frown.
We stayed silent during the car ride
I didn't feel like talking, for I was too nervous to talk."We there yet?" I was too nervous to say anything else.
"Nope," John said. "Don't worry, it's nothing bad." Then he put his hand on top of mine, rubbed his thumb over my knuckles slightly, then quickly returned it back to the steering wheel.
The touch made shivers go down my spine, causing me to shake a bit. John didn't seem to notice, for he continued to stare ahead at the road.
He stopped at an unfamiliar place, and quickly got out and went around to open my door. He pulled me towards the middle of the sidewalk next to a crosswalk.
"Wait here," he told me as he walked across the street in a funny fashion.
I laughed at John, confused, but I quickly shutted up. I realized I probably sounded rude, so I just tittered quietly to myself as John walked back in the same weird way.
"Now I know I don't look the part, but did you get ny reference?" he questioned as he returned to me.
I shook my head no as I continued to giggle. "No, but it was still funny."
John chuckled before pointing to a street sign. "What does that say?"
I looked up, and the sign read Abbey Rd.
"Oh! It's Abbey Road!" I squealed excitedly. "This was where the Beatles took their album cover! No wonder why you looked so funny!"
John laughed before nodding. "Yep! I saw this street on a map once, and told myself I had to come here. But I wanted someone to be with me, and well... I chose you."
I blushed. "I'm glad you did," I giggled.
We walked across the road a couple of times, singing the lyrics to Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Some of the people passing us probably thought we were batty, but I didn't mind at this point. I knew at some point of the day, I was gonna start worrying about it, but for now I was happy.
"What if the actual Beatles were watching us as we did that?" I gasped after we were finished with the song.
"I would freak out!" John also gasped. Then we fell into a laughing fit. Now I was for sure that the people thought we were mad, and a little weirded out by us.
I thought about it for a bit, then almost half a panic attack. If one of the Beatles actually did see us, I would literally die of embarrassment.
"Where to next?" I asked as we got back into the car.
"I was thinking we could go on a quick walk in Hyde Park?"
"Sure! I wouldn't mind seeing some more nature." Just seeing trees on the sides of roads and the occasional bush, bird, and squirrel wasn't enough for me.
"Then off we go!" he cheered, pulling out of our spot. I giggled as I secretly said goodbye to Abbey Road.
We got there and walked around for a bit, and I was pointing out to different trees I found during our walk that my mum had taught me when I was a tot. John, being a good sport, smiled and nodded at every tree I pointed to.
"And that's a weeping willow," I pointed to a tree with its branches hanging down as if weighed down by some force. (I honestly don't know if there are weeping willows in Hyde Park)
