"(Y/N)," I heard John call my name as I felt something push me slightly.
"Yeah?" I mumbled sleepily, confused why he was saying my name before we kissed.
"Wake up, (Y/N). We're here," he said.
"Huh?"
"We're here," he repeated.
I jolted awake then, almost head butting into John. I expected to see streetlights and a dark building in the background that was the college, but instead u saw a huge cabin in the headlights, along with a lake off to the side.
"Where-where are we?" I asked, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
"At my family's lake house. I decided just to come here since it was a bit closer," he explained.
"Oh," I squeaked. Then my stomach growled audibly.
"How about we go eat something then go to sleep or something?" John chuckled. I became quickly embarrassed. "You stay here while I go turn on the lights so we can see, okay?"
I nodded, then he left. He quickly turned on the lights of the cabin, and returned to shut off the car.
"How long have I been asleep for?" I asked as we walked to the house.
"For about 5 hours. About four hours after you fell asleep, the rain stopped and I got the car running again. We were about 30 minutes away, so I just drove here and figured we stay here for the night, if that's fine with you."
"That's fine," I yawned. "Sorry for sleeping for that long."
"It's fine. You looked like you needed sleep anyways."
He opened the door for me, and I went straight to the couch so I could sit. I grabbed the blanket that was draped over the back of the couch and covered up- it was a bit cold in here because the heater didn't have time to warm up the house yet.
"What do you want to eat?" John laughed when I got myself comfortable. "I can make us some hamburgers and hot chocolate."
"What a weird combination..." I commented. "But I'll take it," was added quickly after that.
John chuckled before turning around to go make us some food.
"Wait!" I stopped him. He turned back around. "Can I turn the TV on?" I asked timidly.
"Sure, go on ahead. Make yourself comfy," he said before turning back around.
"Thanks!" I called out, and I heard a muffled "your welcome" in response.I looked around for the remote and found it next to the TV on top of the fire mantle. I found it a bit funny, seeing a small TV on the huge fireplace. I turned it on and found something to watch. I got comfortable again as I waited for John to finish with our food. I considered for a bit to start a fire in the fireplace, and got up to find the materials needed to do so. I found them, and quickly started a fire. My dad had taught me how to start a fire when I was old enough to be trusted that I wouldn't hurt myself.
I sat in front of the for a bit, watching TV when I got tired of it and turned it off. I stared at the fire as John came in with our food and drinks.
"I bought some marshmallows that we can roast over the fire when I start it-oh," he said as he walked towards me, noticing that I already started one. "You already did that.
"Yep," I said proudly. "Now give me my food." I made grabby hands towards him. "I'm starving."
"Be patient, silly," John laughed as he gave me my food and drink and sat down next to me. He put the marshmallows on his side that was facing away from me, making sure I wouldn't steal them from him.
