"I want to meet your parents." Naomi smiles at Eli as her arm was hooked around his. I smiled across the booth at them as Eli was stuffing his face, avoiding the conversation.

After he took a sip of his water, he looks over at her then sighs. "I don't know. My mom is crazy."

"So? My parents are the same way. I would let you meet them if they didn't live in another state. They came to visit every once in a while so next time they're definitely meeting you." She smiles. "They already know about you."

He furrowed his eyebrows at her. "Really?"

Naomi nods then kisses his cheek. "No matter how embarrassing your parents are, I still want to meet them."

Eli looks at me for a moment as if he was trying to ask me for help. I shrug then look around as I kept listening to their conversation.

"Ok. But please ignore anything she says."

Naomi chuckles as I look back at them. "It's going to be ok." She kisses him and I couldn't help but smile. "Jesse? Mind grabbing us some drinks?" She pulls out some money before giving it to me.

"I'll pay." Eli says, then Naomi shakes her head as she nods towards me.

"Go. Grab us whatever you think is good."

Nodding, I smiled at them. "Gotcha."

Getting up, I walked towards the bar and tried breathing a little as I knew River was somewhere. I saw her when we walked in but didn't make eye contact with her since I still remember that day at her house.

Facing her now was going to be embarrassing but there wasn't anything I could do about it so I had to suck it up.

Stopping at the counter, I sat down on one of the stools and looked around until someone came up and asked what I wanted. I wasn't sure what I was going to get but I guess I could wing it and hope for the best.

I'm definitely not getting a drink that has alcohol in it. I'll stick with water or something else that's like a soda.

As I was looking around, I heard someone then looked over to lock eyes with the brown eyes I've been drowning in for a while.

"What can I get you?"

"Um.. two Manhattans and a water."

River nods then proceeds to get the drinks. I watch her for a moment before looking away and focusing on something else for a little bit. I ended up looking back at her as she was handing me the water and pouring the other drinks.

"I want to thank you for what you did that night." She spoke which made me look at her as she was looking down at the drinks. She looks at me and I felt my heart hammer in my chest. "I appreicate it and I'm glad you were around when that happened."

"You're welcome."

She looks at me before slightly smiling and I couldn't help but smile back. She handed me the two drinks for Eli and Naomi before pushing my hand away when I handed her some money.

"On the house."

That caught me off guard as I stared at her before slightly smiling. I grabbed the drinks, coming up with a strategy as how I was going to carry these drinks before hearing the door open.

Looking over, I saw Belle walk in and that other bartender walked over and instantly pointed towards the door. "Out."
