Stuck In A Killing Game

Chapter 2.) It's Reality

We all stood there frozen in fear.
Then slowly the black and white bear turned to us.
"Hello, I am Monokuma! Your new teacher for the quarter!"
The bear who called himself Monokuma explained.
"Our new teacher? Is this some stupid joke or something!?"
Iwaizumi asked confused.

"Oh right! I should tell you how this quarter will go!"
He yelled in a cheerful voice walking up to Tanaka who stood in front of all of us.
"This quarter you all will participate in a killing game! You must survive to pass the quarter!"
He said clapping.
"W-WHAT!?"
Asahi yelled terrified.
"I must go over the rules before we can begin!"
He announced.
"So, you can kill up to two people. If you kill more than that you will be eliminated by execution immediately!"
Monokuma said.
"There's no way we're gonna kill each other!"
Nishinoya pitched in with a voice of confidence.

"Once the despair settles in I doubt you'd be able to contain yourself."
He giggled turning back to Yamaguchi.
"After one or more bodies are found by at least three people you will have time to investigate and then there will be a class trial!"
It said with an evil grin.
"In the this class trial you'll need to find out who the killer, blackened is. If you choose correctly only the killer will receive punishment! If you vote the blackened wrong everyone except the blackened will receive punishment and the blackened will get to leave freely!"
We all stared at each other in disbelief.
"Also, I have one important rule. You cannot attack me unless you want to be eliminated right here and now!"
Monokuma said looking back to us.

"YOU'RE LYING, WE AREN'T GONNA KILL EACH OTHER 'CAUSE A DAMN BEAR TOLD US TO! YOU AREN'T EVEN DANGEROUS LOOKIN' MAN, if I have to beat you up to leave THEN SO BE IT!"
Tanaka yelled running up to the bear.
He swung his fist straight into the bear's face.
I heard Daichi yell for him to stop but it was already too late.
Just as he punched Monokuma the bear's paws turned into long claws stabbing Tanaka in the chest.
We all backed away in fear while Tsukishima ran past the bear and over to Yamaguchi blocking the bear's view from Yamaguchi.

Tanaka fell forward onto the ground bleeding out.
Nishinoya and Daichi ran over to him as the bear laughed eerily.
Asahi was trembling almost falling over.
"See what happens when you don't listen to the rules I explicitly set out? Now your dorms are that way!"
The bear pointed to a door that seemed to be blocked off.
Monokuma then walked over to it from the room.
We peered from the class room as he ripped the barricades from the door.
"Your names are assigned on your door!"

Monokuma kept pointing as if he wanted us to go.
I looked over to Nishinoya and Daichi.
Everyone was frozen in time not saying anything.
I saw Tsukishima help Yamaguchi up as he was trembling in fear.
Nishinoya slowly got up, I could see the rage in his eyes.
He was going to start yelling when Daichi grabbed him by the shoulders and started to walk him over to the dorm area.
'If we wanted to survive whatever this was we had to be obedient.'
I thought.
Hinata and Kageyama were just staring at Tanaka's body. I ran back for them and tried pulling them.
"Guys, we have to go.. I don't want him hurting you too!"
I whispered.

Kageyama nodded but Hinata still couldn't bare to move.
Kageyama pulled Hinata by his shirt and they started walking to the dorm area.
Everyone found their dorms silently, without a word all too terrified to step up to say anything.
With that Monokuma left the hall.
I looked in my dorm and saw a key sitting on the table.
I grabbed the key and saw my name on it.
I then peaked from my room.
As soon as everyone wandered into their dorm I looked around a bit.
I soon came across Tanaka's dorm.
'Surely this is all a dream right..?'
I wondered.
It was too surreal to be a dream but then again.. It felt so.. incredibly.. Wrong.
How could Tanaka just be.. Gone!?

I walked into Tanaka's room hesitant.
I saw his key with his name on it and it finally hit me.
I started to cry as I'm sure most of everyone else was doing right now.
I slowly reached over and grabbed the key.
Out of no where the bear busted through the door.
"So, Kōshi! I'll let you in on a little secret.. Well not really.. I bet the others will figure it out soon enough. You see that key there? It isn't against the rules to steal it and murder that person in their sleep, but seeing since that's a dead person's key it wouldn't be much of a help."
Monokuma sighed and looked as though he pitied me.

"I'm not going to murder my friends! None of us are! And what is all this for!? Why're you doing this, and how are you talking, you're a plushy-"
"First of all, I'm no plushy! I'm a fully functioning and aware AI! Second, this game is for the despair! The despair I see when someone loses the one they love, the despair that occurs when a friend of someone betrays another friend by killing just to be freed themself leaving the others to DIE!"
He said as though his reasoning sounded sane.

"Well, you've got it wrong! None of us would kill each other!"
I said in anger.
"You can hope all you want but soon enough you'll see the true nature of your "friends!"
He giggled then left without another word.
I fell to the ground as I had fallen back to reality.
He's right, one of us probably will be selfish enough to kill another for their own guaranteed survival!
If this is really happening we can't let this feeling of despair concur us! It's what that thing wants!

I put Tanaka's key in my pocket in case of anything.
I then walked out bumping into Daichi just as I had when I had woken up.
"Suga! You're okay!"
He yelled pulling me into an embrace.
"Yeah, yeah I'm okay! Why?"
I asked as he pulled away.
"I went looking for you in your "dorm" but you weren't there.. So, I got nervous."
Daichi mumbled the last part.
I smiled and looked up to him.
"It's gonna be okay if we don't fall into whatever that things' trap is, he calls it despair. He says despair is gonna make us kill each other!"
I said concerned.

"Despair..? Wait, did he talk to you alone?"
He asked me.
"Yeah, he told me we were allowed to steal each other's keys and kill each other at night. You don't think-"
"Suga, there's no way anyone will kill each other! We're all pretty much friends. No bear thing is gonna make us to be murders, and if anything I won't let anyone hurt you!"
Daichi announced.
I felt my eyes water as Daichi led me back to my room.
