Xero and Kidoh had to pull me away from Yano to calm me down. I was having a difficult time believing that my nephew was really in jail.
Once the two boys decided I was calm enough, they let me go talk to Yano. I walked over to the kid and prepped myself. I made a mental promise to myself that I wouldn't yell at him for what he did. Whatever he did, it already happened. I can't control what happened in the past.
I sighed and sat down next to Yano. He smiled at me nervously. I smiled back. "Don't be scared. I just want to know what happened."
He leaned back and let his head fall over the edge of the couch. "I met a girl."
I waited for him to continue, but he didn't. "So, you met a girl. You can't be sent to jail for that."
He looked at me. Then pulled at his hair and cursed. "I stole a motorcycle and a few helmets that came with it so we could go for a ride."
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Of course you did," I said in a slightly angry tone. "I'm not surprised. How did you get caught?"
"Well, the person who owned the motorcycle was a policeman. He decided to scare me a little by taking me to jail and locking me up for a bit. He let me call Uncle Xero, and I asked Uncle Xero to pay bail for me."
I rolled my eyes and looked at Xero. "How much was it?" I'm just so fed up with all the problems my family has been having lately. It's as if I can't get away from disaster.
Xero shrugged his shoulders. "I don't remember, don't worry about it. Anything for my Nephew." Xero smiled and messed up Yano's hair.
I made a look of disgust. "Nephew? When was this decided?" I asked them. Yano swatted Xero's arm away. "Ever since he bailed me out of jail. You get really close with a person after that, you know?" I dropped all my emotions from my face and just stared at them. I'm just so done with this.
About two hours later, my phone vibrated in my hand. I looked at the time on the digital clock in the living room and sighed. Who is calling me at one in the morning?
I looked at my phone and Sanggyun's name Shined brightly. I slowly brought the phone to my ear and answered it.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hyein? It was really you on that date last night right?"
His voice made my heart thump. Now that I'm not out on a dinner date with Kidoh, I feel like it's okay to talk to him. In all reality, I missed the guy.
"Yeah," I finally answered.
There was a quiet sigh from the other end of the phone. I heard a sniffle from Sanggyun.
"Sanggyun, are you okay?"
"I thought that you would wait for me to get back from Japan."
"I didn't know when you were coming back, that's why we broke up, remember?"
He sniffed again. "Yeah I remember. I'm sorry, I was just shocked from seeing you with another guy. I'm overreacting, I'm sorry."
I giggled. "It's okay. Why did you come back to Korea though?"
He sighed again. "Can we hang out sometime? Just you and me? Maybe on Saturday? Sorry it can't be any sooner, I have work."
I smiled and really enjoyed the idea of talking to him alone again. "Yeah, I would love that. I'll see you in four days, okay? By then I hope I'll be back home. You can pick me up there and I'll get dressed up nice, okay?"
He chuckled. It sent shivers up my spine. "Like a date?"
Butterflies erupted in my stomach. "Like a date." I said finally.
