Xueer's POV

I was sitted on the corner, tied up on both my hands and feet. A tear fell down as I replayed through the events that happened.

Just a few days ago and we were so happy, everything seems so bright, then the brightness was swallowed by a dark light slowly eating us whole.

What hurts me the most is how this darkness was brought by the people whom I really trusted. I'm specifically so disappointed with Kiki, even before, I've always thought highly of her. Despite our banters and arguments, I'd always appreaciate how passionate and how much of a good person she is, that's why this is a complete bolt for me.

In the dark room, a lick of light entered as the door slightly opened. I heard footsteps but I didn't care enough to lift my gaze. I won't care anymore, I won't bother.

The footsteps stopped meters away from me, probably on Zihan's place. A weak voice spoke, but it came out clearly since silence surrounds us now.

"Eat that, you have to have strength." It's Kiki talking to Zihan. She seems tired but I can't really bring myself to pity her.

She then seems to approach my place as I hear footsteps getting closer to me. She stopped a couple of feet away from me and placed a tray in front of me.

"Please eat that." She softly said. I directly stared at her, feeling anger creeping into me.

"I'm not hungry." I mumbled as I didn't separated my gaze away from hers.

"Please, I know you're mad at me but you haven't eaten breakfast yet." She said with her pleading voice.

"Why would you care? I'll die anyways." I said looking away from her. It's still hard for me to accept it, but I'm aware of the ending of this.

"Do you really think I would let that happen?" Jiaqi asked with a voice stronger than before.

"You've done this, and you expect me to trust you to save me? Are you kidding me?" I answered. She then ran a hand on her hair.

"I'm actually in love with you Xueer, and I'll never let anyone hurt you. I didn't know she's gonna take you, that's why this happened. If only i knew, then I wouldn't hav-" She said. I looked back at her cutting her off.

"And if it's not me? Would you let it happen then?" I retorted. She then was unable to reply.

"I have my reason Xueer. I may be the bad guy in your eyes right now, and I understand why, but if this is what it takes to keep the people I love safe, then I'll accept it." She said as she got up.

"Please just eat that." She said leaving the room. I feel drained, drained of everything.

Xin's POV

Keran and I used the backdoor to avoid attention. It's impossible for us to get our keys and calling out a taxi isn't ideal since this is a dangerous and confidential mission. It is also impossible for us to start a random car without a key since we have nothing for lock picking.

"How will we get there?" I asked Keran. She stopped for a while and then told me about the plan.

My eyes widened at her plan, but we really have no other choice since the front door is quite crowded by now.

We approaced the road as vehicles came and go. We are looking for a cheap looking one, and there it is. It is a pick up truck that looks like it was used for quite sometime now.

"That pick up truck will probably cost about a couple thousand of dollars." Keran mumbled. I looked at her as she scan herself.

"Okay, let's go." She mumbled as she started trying to catch the attention of the driver.
