You & I The Flash

Chapter 1

After H.R's heroic sacrifice, Iris and Joe waited patiently at Star Labs and in a gush of wind, two figures appear at the doorway.
"Savitar? What the hell is he doing here?" Joe raised his voice as he pulled out his gun.
"Joe! It's okay," Barry tried to calm him down, "he's here because he needs our help."
"What do you mean?" Iris slowly said, keeping her eyes on the man that tried to kill her.
"Well, since he didn't succeed in his plan, he will cease to exist in a few hours. We're gonna help him live in this timeline. Permanently."
"Barry, are you out of you mind? He tried to kill Iris!" Joe raged, unable to comprehend how Barry could put his daughter's life on the line.
"Dad, it's okay." Iris, always supportive of Barry's ways, turned toward Savitar and said, "We can help you, but you kidnapped the only people who can actually do something."
"She's right. We can't exactly make a cure." Savitar, who was ignoring their argument looking around the old Star Labs, caught up in memories, didn't respond.
"Savitar?" Barry's voice brought him back to the present. He sped off to his lair and brought back Cisco and Killer Frost.
"Wh-What's happening?" Cisco questioned.
"Savitar, what are you doing?" Killer Frost's icy voice boomed through the room.
Barry explained his plan, saving Savitar's life in exchange for him letting go of his old plans.
"Savitar? You're okay with this?" Frost asked.
Without looking at her, he responded, "it's the only way."
She, being faithful to him, sighed and closed her eyes. Before anyone could even blink an eye, her icy blonde hair transformed to a chestnut colour and she opened her warm chocolate coloured eyes.
"Caitlin?" Cisco cautiously asked.
Caitlin stood there dumbfounded for a few seconds before saying, "Cisco? I-It's me."
Unable to contain his joy, he almost jumped on to her and hugged her. One by one, Team Flash created a group hug, elated to see their friend back on the team. As they hugged, Savitar quietly watched. Caitlin peaked over Cisco's shoulder and held eye contact with Savitar, before breaking the hug up and asking, "how can we help?"
In the medical bay, Caitlin did an evaluation on Savitar, and the silence was unbearable.
"Frost is mad at you, you know."
Savitar who was looking at floor all this time, asked why.
"She doesn't understand why you gave up on you plan. Come to think of it, I don't really either."
He sighed, "I didn't see a point." She waited for him to elaborate, but he didn't.
"Well, since you're a future time remnant of Barry, your cells can't work with our time, especially with Iris alive. I guess we can add Barry's cell with yours to stabilize it."
"So, I'm gonna be another Barry?"
"No. Frost and I have the same cells and face, but we're completely different. Think of this as a chance to start over." She tried to be as civil as possible, but Savitar could hear the hurt in her voice.
Like they do all the time, Cisco and Caitlin finished the serum just in time and Savitar couldn't believe how they helped him even after everything he put them through.   

The next day, the sky was gloomy and small drops of rain came pouring down. Team Flash, along with Savitar, lined up in black to pay their respects to H.R, an innocent life lost in the madness of their lives. Barry held on tightly to his girlfriend's hand, forever grateful to H.R for saving her life. Iris tried to stay strong but as her eyes started to water, she wrapped her arms around Barry for support.
"Is Tracy going to come at all?" Iris sniffed.
"I don't think so." Barry patted her back.
After the ceremony, Cisco and Barry found Caitlin alone by a tree.
"Hey," Cisco said softly, "your mom found a cure for you."
"Thanks Cisco, but I'm not going to take it."
"What? Why?"
"For the longest time, I've wanted these powers gone, but now I've realized that Frost is apart of me and I feel like she has good in her."
"I agree," Barry said, "if not, she wouldn't have let you out."
Caitlin nodded her head and the three looked over toward H.R's tomb where Savitar was standing.
"Do you think we can trust him?" Cisco asked.
"I hope so," Barry stated, fearful that he might've made a wrong decision.
"I don't think there's any good in him," Caitlin stated.
Barry looked at her confused, "what do you mean?"
"While Frost was out, I was apart of her too. I saw and heard everything. He's hurt, sure, but if everyone hurt did something as dangerous as he tried to, the world would've ended a long time ago. He has no excuse," she complained.
"Wait, you heard everything? Like Dr. Stein and Ronnie," Barry tried to change the subject.
"Yeah, exactly, I just couldn't communicate with her, but I want to see if that's possible."
"Let's get to Star Labs right now," Cisco said, excited about their new mission.
"I'll meet you guys there," Caitlin nodded her head toward H.R's grave. The boys understood her pain and left her alone to grieve.
With everyone gone, Caitlin walked toward the coffin and lay a rose, feeling guilty about everything she's put her team through. Watching this, Savitar came up beside her and after a few minutes of silence, he said,
"I'm sorry. For everything. I, um, I feel like I hurt you most of all."
Caitlin looked at him in the eyes and almost saw a mirror image of herself in him.
She shrugged, "I want to tell you that I forgive you, but I know it'd be a lie."
For some reason, that hurt the former villain. If anyone were to forgive him, he thought it'd be Caitlin Snow.
"Uh, do you want me to drop you off at the Lab?" He asked.
"Just a second."
She walked over to another tomb with the name, 'Ronald (Ronnie) Raymond'.
"He always said we were like fire and ice, I never knew how true that was until...."
"Ronnie was a good man. He died saving the world," Savitar sighed.
Caitlin glanced at him with the corner of her eye and wondered if the man who had tortured her had some good in him too.
