I thought you were my perfect fit, my beginning and end.
I wouldn't have to search for an in between.
The best stories have an epilogue, to wrap things up with a pretty bow, like a Christmas gift.
You were the only wish on my Christmas list, my wish upon a star, all the 11:11's I'd close my eyes and picture you.
You promised to protect me from the outside cold of the season and others trying to break in.
So I opened my covers and arms to you, so you could hold me, protect me, have me, and be with me.
Forever and always, with lots and lots of love.
It was a dream come true, just me and you.
But I imagined you as my epilogue, and to you I was just another chapter to stumble through.
Not meant to be memorable, rather a filler.
You grew colder than the nights here ever could and god it felt endless.
There was no more warmth between us, rather you were between her, and her, oh and her too.
In retrospect, the time was short.
But I was left in the dark, begging for a glimpse of light.
