Quiet days were always Hongjoong's favourite. For hundreds of years, peace of mind was a luxury he just didn't have so he was always grateful when he simply had a moment to himself. Seonghwa saw his husband by the window of the café with a book in his hand enjoying the silence. He looked so relaxed and it made him smile.
"Hyungs," Mingi called as he hung up his apron. "I'll be going now. See you two tomorrow!" He gave the two a wave then left, leaving them alone. Seonghwa grinned at that. He'd been waiting all day to be alone with Hongjoong. With that, the dark-haired demon locked the door then waltzed over to Hongjoong's table.
The younger hardly paid him any mind, focussing instead on his story. Seonghwa cleared his throat and tapped the table - still no response. "Joongie," he called.
Nothing.
"Joong? Hongjoong? Baby boy?"
"Yes?" Of course he'd respond to that one. Nevertheless, Seonghwa didn't mind, happy to finally have his attention.
"Are you ready to go home, hun?" Hongjoong looked baffled for a moment, not realising that he was so deep in his book that he had completely lost track of time. He laughed it off though and gave Seonghwa a nod. His husband grinned and kissed his forehead then took his hand. In the blink of an eye the pair was teleported into their living room.
Seonghwa glanced around for a moment and furrowed his brow. "Where's Sannie? He usually greets us when we get back."
"I dropped him off at Wooyoung's house this morning," Hongjoong replied as he put his book on the shelf. He then made his way over to the fireplace but soon eyed Seonghwa suspiciously when he was silent. "You're not saying anything."
"Oh...no?"
"I was expecting you to groan or be up in arms or something."
"I'm not opposed to San having friends you know," Seonghwa scoffed. "I just don't want him having intimate relationships with humans." Hongjoong sighed and stood from the fireplace. He placed his hands on his husband's hips with the shake of his head.
"I thought we went over this? We can't dictate who he befriends or who he falls in love with. He's a smart boy...most of the time, and we should trust him to make his own decisions. No matter how unethical they may seem." Seonghwa pursed his lips, muttering a few things under his breath before inevitably nodding and placing a kiss on Hongjoong's lips, making him giggle.
"Fine. Well, I guess it's good that Sannie's not here. It gives me a chance to clean his room." Seonghwa almost seemed excited by the fact. "Ooh! Then I'll get started on some food. What would you like?"
"Your choice. Whatever you make will be fantastic." The two exchanged one more kiss before Seonghwa skipped upstairs. Just as he expected, his son's room wasn't tidy in the slightest. The bed sheets were on the floor, his desk had random objects scattered across it, school supplies floating aimlessly through the air and there were footprints on the ceiling. Seonghwa shook his head at the sight. The joys of having a chaos demon as a son he supposed.
Oh well. More fun for him then.
About a half an hour later, Seonghwa came down with a laundry basket and a grin knowing he had tackled San's room in record time. As he strolled past the living room, Seonghwa noticed that Hongjoong had fallen asleep in the fireplace. The demon cooed at the sight and went to take him to their room. Suddenly he remembered he was nowhere near fire resistant and opted to leave him be now. He'd move him upstairs when he was more awake.

"Welcome back Hongjoong," a voice greeted. Hongjoong's eyes shot open, his breath heavy and face covered in sweat. He flinched back when a hand came down on his shoulder. "Whoa! Calm down Joong! It's just me."
