All she wanted was...
A friend.
A sane state of mind.
Someone who could read her mind.
Someone who would know what is upsetting her without her really saying anything.
Someone who could understand her.
Someone who could help her fight the demons.
Someone who could look at her and know she is worth it.
Someone who could look at her like she means the world.
But maybe that's too much to ask for.
Because people can't read minds. They need to be told in order to help.
People can't give someone self worth. She needs to know her self worth and own it.
People can't understand someone who can't understand themself. She needs to understand herself first.
A friend doesn't just come around. A friend has to be made.
A state of mind doesn't just happen. It is built.
She knows all that.
She knows it with every fibre of her being, then why does she still want it?
She knows her self worth, or at least used to. Then why does she suddenly want a guy who would define it for her?
Why does she want a guy to validate what she already knows?
Maybe what she really wants is a safety net.
Someone who could catch her fall.
Because right now she is falling.
She is screaming but no one listens.
And she is trying to find a ledge to hold onto but there aren't any.
-
She has best friends.
Two that are very close to her.
But why is she afraid of opening up.
Why can't she just lay everything bare for them to see?
Maybe because she knows that if she did they would leave.
But who can she trust if not the people close to her.
She is truly and utterly lost.
But all she wants is to be found.
